Can anyone tell me the name of this style of connector that comes off of the original Outrun 2 shifter? (I believe Crazy Taxi uses the same shifter as well). It's a 4-pin, 2x2. Just need the correct name so I can order more male/female replacements.IMG_8416.jpegIMG_8417.jpeg

Looks like a Molex square barrel connector.

Awesome, thanks! The corresponding female plug was also at the bottom of the page👍🏽

That's a pretty terrible picture, but I'm almost certain that's not a Mini-Fit Jr. Looks more like a JST YL connector, maybe YLP-04V: https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/jst-sales-america-inc/YLP-04V/7230541 ... though you should measure and compare w/ the mechanical drawing.

Damn dude, I think you might be right! Glad I decided to hold off on buying til the shifter arrived! But….i can't find the male equivalent on digikey (the part you linked is considered "female"). Looking at the tech sheet, I THINK YLR-04V is the corresponding male part, but the locking tab looks different from YLP-04V.
EDIT: I'm 99% sure it's YLP-04VF. I thought the "F" stood for female, but the tech sheet says it's considered "male pin".
Lemme know if you agree:

Yes, either the YLR-04V ( https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/jst-sales-america-inc/YLR-04V/9921742 ) or YLR-04VF ( https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/jst-sales-america-inc/YLR-04VF/9921743 ) should be the correct mate for the YLP-04V. I believe only difference between those is that one has tabs for panel mounting.

Don't forget that you'll also need pins. They have the male pins (SYM-41T-P0.5A): https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/jst-sales-america-inc/SYM-41T-P0-5A/4430790 , though it looks like the sockets (SYF-41T-P0.5A) are special order: https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/jst-sales-america-inc/SYF-41T-P0-5A/1886671 . The SYM-01T-P0.5A (pins) and SYF-01T-P0.5A (sockets) for 16-20 AWG wire are also special order.

They do sell pre-crimped wires though, like: https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/jst-sales-america-inc/ASYMSYF16K254/9921726 (socket to pin) , so you could buy them and cut/splice them into whatever harness you're making.
