Hi everyone, I am new to the site and having just purchased an Outrun game I have a feeling I am going to be on here quite often. Does anyone know where I should begin to find out why the shaker mechanism on my game doesn't work.

A lot of times it is unplugged because the constant shaking can make the plastic gear in the steering mechanism break...

I find that the people I know who own one unplug it because it can get anoying. I like mine, but yeh for starters make sure its plugged in.

theres also a small (usually yellow) board on the bottom of the cab.. maks sure thats plugged in.. THeres also a fuse and or circuit breaker behind the coin door that should be checked...

check her out and let us know!!!

oh and if all checks good make sure its actually "on.."

on mine when i first got it the shaker didnt work.. the dip switches on the pcbs were not configured correctly and it caused the shaker function to be commanded off due to the settings of said switches...

forgot all about that...

If you hear funny noises coming from it then check to make sure the rubber bushing isn't massively deformed. I found one that worked as a replacement at the local Auto Zone in the red cardboard backed "HELP!" OEM replacement parts.

Thanks for everyone's help. Turns out it was the dip switch. It's very irritating so I think I will just turn if off for now. Nice to know that I can switch it back on when I want to.
