So I picked up an outrun mini set this weekend... Looking to add a marquee light...

Anyone done this in the past and have tips?

I'm guessing a simple under counter light will do the trick...

Anyone got a good way to wire it in? What about mounting?

Any help is appreciated!

Yep, just took some for ya. I remember I had a scrap piece of wood that was a near perfect fit for the marquee area, and I attached it with a couple of L brackets I had on-hand. I then attached a cheapie undercounter fluorescent lamp.

In terms of wiring it in, not the most elegant electrical work, but I spliced it in to the existing AC wiring. Not sure where the pink and blue wiring was going to directly. Maybe the fan. Not sure.

I was looking at one of my cabs and it seems the pink and blue wires are the power wires to the monitor. Do you see any power draw from your monitor because of this?

I'll try and take another look today, but I'm pretty sure I didn't mess with the monitor wiring. Are you sure there is not another run of pink/blue running to the fan?

Pretty sure there are multiple. Here's an old pic from a Turbo Outrun mini i worked on which should be similar...

That looks awesome! If I were to get a driving game, that'd be the one. And a mini to boot.

Looks GREAT! Nice work. I really don't understand why they didn't put a light in these cabs!

Now you need a topper! :)
