OK does anyone have Outrun Mini Sideart scanned? Before I spend a lot of time trying to recreate and scan it I figured I should check. Ideally a stencil or sticker would be ideal as it is just red and black. As I just picked up a super nice machine from Scott C but the words Sega were painted over I figure I should redo it right. Also where can I find the gas pedal shaft or a suitable replacement as the shaft under the pedal is missing so car will only do 165Km when pressing pedal. I am assuming rubber from a flooring shop or HW shop will clean up the base.

Out Run Repro Mini Sideart Awesome!!!!

OK I just received the new plotter cut side art for my Outrun Mini and it was worth the price. It was not cheap as it was a one off digital print from the seller who was selling it about a year ago. For a digital print it looks great with a gloss finish and plotter cut. The seller even through in a couple of nice silver Midway coin door decals.

The art on mine is thrashed with the sega logos painted over in black. This will make the restore to mint worth while. I was lucky to get game cheap.

Here's what I did:

For the Outrun Gas Pedal Shaft, go to Home Depot and get a long Cotter Pin (the kind that opens and bends outward) -- it replaces the shaft and it works!

- For the Floor Mat, while at Home Depot, get their ribbed black rubber material (they will cut it from the large roll).
- Remove the Gas Pedal Assembly (two screws) -- remove the Wooden Block (two screws).
- Make a Template of the floor using card stock paper and align and punch holes through the card stock paper Template (for the Wooden Block holes and the Gas Pedal holes).
- Place the Template over the Rubber Material and cutout the Mat -- drill or cut for the screw holes.
- Position the Mat on the floor.
- The screws in the Wooden Block and Pedal should align and will hold the Mat in place (no glue needed).
- Also, I covered the Gas Pedal, Brake Pedal, and Base Trim Plate with Gorilla Black Tape. (Eliminates painting!)
(See Thumbnail Picture)

If you (or anyone else) ever produce a red and black side art for the Mini (at a reasonable price) -- please let me know.

Not to hijack your post but...

I have three BRAND NEW pieces of the gray rubber floor matting specifically for the Outrun cabarets. PM me if you need one for your restoration.
