I recently acquired an outrun upright with a Rev B board. I had a fellow klov member burn the roms for me, when I install the enhanced roms I get strange graphic issues. When I go back to the stock roms graphic issues go away. I shipped the enhanced roms back to the guy that burned them. He verified that they all looked correct. He saw there was a newer version so erased them, burned again with new version and shipped them back to me. I reinstalled them same issues. Removed and re-seated each chip one at a time. Bent out slightly on the legs to make sure they are getting good contact problem still persists. Wondering if anybody has seen these issues before and knows how to correct them? Attached are a few shots of the issues. I did notice that the backup cap had already been replaced not sure if that is related?

Looks to me like you got the DUI version in there.. And yes, that was a joke. I do not know enough about the game to be any help though. I'm sure someone here can figure this out. good luck.

Sorry for the delayed reply. Looks like I have three that are -15 and one that is -10. Wondering if that might be my problem. I'm not seeing the same numbering on the original chips. They are hard to read since someone made an x over the part number. Attached images of old and new. Thanks.

The numbering is different on the originals. How can I tell if those are faster or slower than the originals? Can someone tell me how fast the originals are? Thanks.

The new eproms are all faster than the originals so that's not the problem. The originals are non cmos and the new ones are cmos though, there's a good chance that's the problem. So you need someone to burn the enhanced code on four 27512 (not 27c512).

If the code is verified I cannot think of any thing else that could be causing the problem.

Edit: To answer your question the originals are 200ns.

Did some quick reading this morning and that doesn't look to be the problem.

27C512 is a newer, low-power, high-speed, version that is backwards compatible with games that use 27512 EPROMs.

Does anybody else have other ideas what the problem might be?

Success. New set of 27512s chips burned and installed. No graphics issues. Glad to have this working 100% again. Now on to steering gears, new gas pedal and monitor rebuild. Thanks Ace20 for your suggestions.
