Just got the game. it doesn;t move. Anyone have any troubleshooting on how to see if it's somethign easy to fix.

the deluxe cab is much liek the after burner cab i believe in that in moves during gameplay. i also go a power drift that does move.

usual checks apply

I only have one sega cab that moves (Space Harrier). However, assuming it is similar in the first instance there is a motor warm up/test during game boot that can be disabled, I think through dip switches. Perhaps first you should check that is enabled, then you would have a better idea of exactly what the fault is.

Then check all the voltages, fuses, motor drive board inputs and cabling but observer safaety precautions as I think is quite a few volts. Space Harrier has quite a few fuses dotted around for the drive section maybe yours is similar.

Afterburner

My Afterburner sit downs both had the dip switches set to stand-up. Thus the cabinet didn't move. Once I found the right Dip settings it all came alive. Hope this helps.

I need more Afterburner parts to make my machines come alive...... Work in progress but they will be 100% restored when done!

Afterburner Moving

there are 2 dip switch blocks. The second(B) the last 2 dips choose wether it is moving or not. Also there is a motor PCB that I found had to have the connectors cleaned before mine moved.

ok got under the hood and i believe the motor is shot on it. when i would put it into test mode i would play with the limit switches which actually seem to register with the test. is there a compatabile moter that i could replace this one with? i have a racing jam that has a motor on the steering column. i was thinking that motor might work as a replacement.

If motor has stopped working it is very likely it is the bushes which have worn out. I would overhaul it, I would think an Auto repair shop that reconditions engine starter motors would be able to sort it.

i test to see if the motor was even getting power. this is where things get a littly iffy. in the box under the driver side front wheel i traced the lines from the motor back. i have power coming out of that box but no power goin gto the motor. there is a red and black line coming from the motor to that box. now the red runs to the box while the black goes somewhere completely different. i know i sound stupid but i tried tracing the line but ran out of time today. anyway my friend figured to jump from where the power is last coming in whcih did make the motor power up but it started to smoke a little so we stopped. so i think that the black wire has somethign to do with regulating the power. any help i would apprciate.
