Hello--picked up three non working machines from a lady on CL--Bow and Arrow, Now and an Evel Knievel (home ed)
Got the Bow and Arrow up and working--fuse panel issue and few unconnected wires from cracked solder---few other things.
Moved on to the EK machine. Started up but wouldnt put the ball into play. If you dropped the ball to the shooter the rest of the game seems to work, keep good score, count bonuses etc----Checked outhole switch and it appeared ok and adjusted correctly--got looking at the outhole kicker coil--wouldnt move at all--and paper was pretty much toast. Turns out the plastic insert had melted closed inside it got so hot. I tried to read the number on the coil and order one from Marco. It got here and the new coil has no diode (and the kickout still does not work)
I assume the coil needs a diode added to work?? (cant tell much about the old one as its physically broken)
If so any clue which one would work??
Also curious what would cause this coil to get that hot??
Is there a diode on the board in the cabinet which controls the outhole coil?? There is a diode which looks "brownish" near its end
Thanks-want to get this one running as I really want to get to the Gottlieb NOW--Its pretty groovy.
