I wanna thank prOk for printing, cutting and applying the graphics and translucent vinyl on plexi for me. Really nice job man. To make this sign, I built a 12 x 36" lightbox out of 1x4 pine boards. I routed a 1/4 groove in the back of each board so that when the frame was assembled, there would be a ledge for a solid piece of fiberboard to be inset as a backer/light mounting surface. I added a single pole switch to the bottom (just like an arcade game) and cut two small vents near the top on each side for heat to escape. I installed 2 20" flouro fixtures offset, one on top, one on the bottom. I painted the whole thing with stainless steel appliance epoxy, to give it that space-age machined metallic look. As the vinyl mask was applied to the front of the original sheet of plexi, I had a second sheet of plexi cut to use as a protective lens, so that it would be protected from dust and cleaning fluids. I then mitered 4 pieces of brushed aluminum angle to use as a frame to hold the plexi signs to the wooden light box. I just have to wire in a new outlet up close to the ceiling and the sign, so I don't have to F around with ext cords, etc.

Here's a pic of the sign completed but before being hung:

Thanks for looking. Next up, Atari Sign, Blade Runner style.

Sign looks great; you have an awesome setup.

I'm very jealous of all of these finished space arcades I see on KLOV. Makes me feel like a chump every time I go to my unfinished basement and play the very meager set of games I own.

Thanks man. It's taken me years to get this far, and I'm always adding to it and changing/ improving upon it. It's never really complete in my eyes. I always think of something that I think will look or be cooler than the thing I just finished.

Bravo!!! Looks great, Phet! You have amazing sign tastes. I love it. Really cool!! SERIOUSLY.

i can't explain the awesomeness of how good that looks. every time i think you've topped yourself with making your arcade look cooler, you amaze us again.

Dude, so sick! It fits perfect, too. Well done my man. Its high noon on my sun dial.

look good Phet. May I suggest that you drop the power cord on the right side of the door casing? It looks like your feeding it from that side anyway, would hide it better behind the dart board!

Was thinking the same thing, sign looks awesome, try to hide that power cord better for a cleaner look. nice job.

Yeah I kinda covered that in the first post:

It's really hard to capture how intense the colors look on this thing with a camera. You can see the color saturation better if you look at the reflection of the sign in this shot:
