This seems to be a frequent issue, so I thought I'd just throw this up for all to see instead of responding in a million threads whenever it comes up.

Now that YouTube embedding has been enabled on the site, it's that much easier to show off your games! All you have to do is click the YouTube button above the post box right? Well, not quite. Let's use "Darth Vader Feels Blue", since it's funny.

You might think that you just paste the YouTube url into the YouTube brackets like this:
Code:
[*YOUTUBE]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3eZBevXohCI[/YOUTUBE]
But that won't work, you'll just get a big blank space in the middle of your post. :( What the YouTube brackets are actually looking for is the video id, which is the part of the url that follows the 'watch?v=' :

Code:
[*YOUTUBE]oaL05JZ8zOI[/YOUTUBE]
Now, for 16x9 (widescreen) videoes, use 'youtubewide' instead of 'youtube'
Code:
[*YouTubeWide]xz-1tAeB868[/YouTubeWide]
Removing the asterisk will give you a nice embedded video to watch:

Enjoy! :)

Edit: Whoops, forgot to sticky this.
Edit2: Looks like the original video got pulled.

And now the same thing works with Vimeo:

[*vimeo]4547114[/vimeo]
(don't include '*')

[vimeo]4547114[/vimeo]
