I was helping some locals with their monitors and both guys had pins, I couldn't get enough of them. Played a variety of their pins, Space Time, Adams Family, Avatar, Elvira...etc

Within a month I have sold off my upright arcade cabs and bought a pin... Well, actually two of them. 1 to practice on and fund the second that will get a lot more attention. Seller cut me a great deal and I get them Saturday. This is the pin that I remember from my teenage years :)

Thanks.

The seller is awesome and has been very helpful but is his statement true about the display?

"A pinscore display set will increase the value"

Ummm .... I'm afraid that'd be a really far fetched statement
Let me be clearer

He said it would be better than replacing the displays with rebuilds or NOS.

From what I have read, I would say that the pinscore set would be a great investment since it will probably never go bad

BTW - I forgot to congratulate you. I agree - get rid of those dumb arcades and get some more pins! heh
Well, I guess the way I see this, Pinscore hasn't been around as long as most of the pins. How long will they last? Shoot I dunno. I believe only time will tell that tale. I have pins with the original displays still in them and they look brilliant. So as far as saying better than NOS ..... we'll just leave that one open for debate as well ;)

The other risk is that the pinscore units tap into a different voltage than the original gas display units do - a voltage that goes towards other circuits...so you run the risk of putting a bit more pressure on that circuit while completely avoiding the high voltage circuit...you win some, you lose some.

Personally, I like original gas discharge displays. But that's just me.

Well, I have 1 pinscore set on order and I have to find 2 X 7 digit numeric display. Once both are in place, I will make up my mind to which is better for value, aesthetics and my mental health.

Thanks.

Pinscore displays will increase the value of the game slightly but not enough to offset the cost of the displays. So the statement is true but not necessarily in the context in which it was intended.

EDIT: I would think that NOS display glass would raise the value more than LED displays but that's just speculation.
