Our road trip to get some arcade games (pics inside)

So one day my buddy Jason (Jdubb350) shoots me a text saying that there are some Daytona USA machines for sale down in Illinois. He tells me to log onto Klov and check out the for sale section. Sure enough, theres a few for sale. The next week or so, I scramble to raise some extra cash, line up a trailer and my buddy, Andy, says we'll take his truck to go get em'. Here's our little road trip from the Detroit area to the middle of Illinois. 7 hours or so to get there and 8 hours back. We left Saturday morning at 8am and got home around 2 or 3am Sunday morning. Heres the pics........

Here's the big bad 2500 Diesel we took. Belongs to my long time friend Andy.

Here's me and Jason sometime toward the beginning of the trip...and may I say, Jason is a pleasure to go on a road trip with. Always happy, fun and telling stories. Jay, you da man.

Here's Andy.........with his bright ass neon yellow shirt. Jeez. I think he's wearing sunglasses because the glare of his shirt makes it impossible to see out of the truck while driving.

Ahhh, yes. Some of the crazy things you see during a standard road trip. Compact truck with a trailer made out of a full size truck. Awesome.

Here's Jason, trying to catch some Z's. We kept messing with him every time he tried to sleep..thats probably why he looks like he's about to laugh in that pic.

Andy, giving the bird as we passed a Exxon refinery. He was also screaming obscenities out the window.

Jason..sleeping sitting up this time.

I spy something in my eye.....Brighter then the sun....Oh..its just Andy.

Wrapped up, ready to rock out!

Of course, when we got back home at 3AM, the first thing Andy does is scramble to find a plug in my garage and fires up a Daytona machine. We went even done unloading and he was busy slamming gears and drifting around corners. Hahaha!

Thats about it. I'm sure some of you have seen some posts of mine floating around here in the repair section and what not. I've been working on them trying to get them in ship shape. Cant wait to link up all 4 units and do some "drunk driving". The fifth unit is going over Andys house.

A big thanks to Nixs! He's the man! Sold them to me for more then what I consider fair price and he helped load them and was in general a really cool guy. Its always good doing business with someone who is fun to be around! If your ever in Detroit, hit me up!

This was an epic road trip! My knees are still hurting from being crammed in the back seat of that truck though! One thing I know for sure is when I find another game or pinball that requires a road trip I am dragging your ass with me to pick up that Fucking Junk!

Hey I give myself some credit for this one. I got my fatass in the back of that truck for the better part of a full day and took 2 or 3 hour long naps. I didn't nap nearly as much as Kyle's pics make it look like I did! Nixs was a cool dude to meet for sure! Only wish I had some extra cash as he had a REALLY nice Super Street Fighter 2 in a Capcom big blue that he was asking $350 for. But I promised the wife I was only going along for the ride and wouldn't drop anymore cash right now.

I picked that up for if I ever need to build a 60 in 1 for somebody, as I thought I might have one on the hook, but I haven't heard anything recently, so I actually haven't even touched it yet. If I don't get anybody intersted in a multi anytime soon I will either just off it for the $100 I have into it or maybe I will try to bring it back to life as a Ms Pac.

What was the fuel cost for that little pilgrimage?

Can't remember for sure since I didn't pay for any of the gas but I think it was about $250.

Let me see here...fillup 1: $120. That got us down there. Fillup 2: $90 that got us most of the way back. Fillup 3 was $80 because the tank was partially full.

So $290 for fuel. On the way down there we were averaging 18-20mpg. On the way back it was 15-16. Thank goodness we took the Diesel, because if we would have took my Suburban, the cost would have been substantially more. I get 12-15mpg without a trailer..HAHAHA!
