I threw my shoulder out Tuesday night after working on some arcade machines.
I can't even move it at the shoulder joint. Could be a rotator cuff injury. But damn, maybe I so go back to stamp collecting? No one gets hurt collecting stamps do they? My wife said that stamps are NOT COOL, like arcade games though!

Collecting arcade games come with a price, sore backs and shoulders.
How is everyone esle's shoulder? Has this happened to you?
I'm taking Advil and putting ice on it.

I've got all sorts of back pain...

I went to my doctor because it's been getting pretty bad & she asked "Have you been lifting heavy stuff?"

After I explained about the heavy boxes in my basement, she laughed and said, "Yeah, ok... I know what you mean. My husband has an Operation Wolf..."

I've been moving these games around for years and I swear that the older they get the heavier they get.... Or is it the older I get the heavier they get??? I can't remember now, the pain meds make me foggy sometimes... ;^)

Honestly, I am not even that old nor have I been collecting that long but nevertheless my experiences have not been without pain.

I've injured both shoulders (to be fair, I tore one of my rotator cuffs in highschool) and more recently my left elbow.

I assume it's just hyper-extended or something but in any case, it hasn't been right ever since I did a raid solo not that long ago, filling my truck up with heeeeeavy late 70s - early 80s particle board cabs!

The worst part? The girlfriend "volunteered" me to help her father put on the trusses for the roof on his brand new huge-ass garage/woodworking shop. Yeeeaaaah....

Yep. My shoulder started hurting last October after trying to stand up a Centipede on my trailer by myself. I did not account for the fact that my driveway created like a -20 degree slope so that I was lifting more than if the trailer was level. Just got an MRI 2 weeks ago and they say I have 2 partial tears.

There's hazards in every hobby.

Think of all the paper cuts you will get if you go back to stamp collecting....also, George Costanza's girlfriend died from licking old adhesive....you don't want that to happen to you too, do you?

I've often joked about selling everything and getting into stamps. Besides being easier on the body, a huge collection could fit in one closet.

I've yet to find a cool hobby that didn't take up a bunch of room.

My first hobby when I was a kid was collecting coins. I had a fairly decent collection and then when I was like 17, I sold most of it when I was raising money to run away to Italy to be with my girlfriend. Very stupid of me. I never did get back into it but I have thought of it often. It feels like it would be much harder to break back into than it was back in 1980.

I phased out any non-interactive hobbies a long time ago, they are boring. Besides monetary reasons, I never understood why people have them.

Maybe when/if I'm old with crippling back problems, I will understand.
