I was just wondering what other forums people here gravitate towards?
In my short stay here I have enjoyed the exceptional level of respect and courtesy that the members here have shown, quite a rare find anymore these days!

I rarely check out Arcade Controls anymore, as it's mainly MAME oriented, although they have a nice Monitor Help section. And I'll sometimes go to New Life Games if I have slot repair issues.

Otherwise, I'm happy here and don't need other places. This is the only place where I participate often, and the other places are just a once-in-a-while or an as-needed....

I frequent this modeling site www.culttvman.com.
I build sci-fi models and that site has lots of info and pics of other modelers builds.
There is also a store and forum there also.
There are so many add-ons for models nowadays for lighting and photo etch details.
I visit Arcade controls once in a while too.

I wouldn't think anyone would treat you with anything but courtesy, especially any Women here Mr." Smack a hoe"

I'm on MANY different forums.

My faves are the Neo-Geo.com forums (got my big start there learning the MVS system and documenting it and my repairs of it for the folks there), the NLG forums (where they are nice to host my repair logs), and here.

I do have to say that the NLG forums are BY FAR the MOST polite and helpful place you'll find on the web. It doesn't have all the BS of this forum - which doesn't hold a candle to the BS on the Neo-Geo forum. ;) Those guys will eat a n00b for breakfast.

I usually frequent this forum, although I occasionally check the neo geo and coin op space forums. There are a lot of helpful people on all of those forums, including people off of this forum.

But overall I think this forum is more helpful and friendlier, especially for noobs,as here they may ask a redundant question or any other kind of noob question and people for the most part kindly answer it anyway.

You do that on the NG forums, you're most likely going to get dressed down and ridiculed by the mods as well as a lot of other members and then maybe someone will post a link to a previous thread where the same question was asked.

I'll have to check out the NLG forums.

I guess most of my time is over at neo geo. been there for a few years now. It can be a bit unfriendly to newer people at times, but over all I've not had any trouble there.

I sometimesd visit the Atariage forums. Its more oriented towards classic consoles, but it does have an arcade section.

Is that one forum still around that was started 6 months or so ago by some fellow rogue KLOV'ers? For the life of me i can't think of the name.:D

I've got several other dangerous (expensive) hobbies I've gone through before gravitating here.

Replica Movie Props--- www.therpf.com
Indiana Jones Gear---http://www.indygear.com/cow/
Nissan 350z boards---www.my350z.com, www.350z-tech.com, etc.

Fortunately, most of those hobbies have run their course as I've "finished" my collection/mods/gear, etc. So I visit them infrequently. After I finish restoring my last game, the same will likely be said for here unfortunately...:(

I post over at arcadecontrols a lot since I like to build from the ground up and I'm totally OK with MAME. I just started posting here recently (I've been reading for a while though) since I've caught the bug from restoring my DK.

I started this hobby at BYOAC, and I still go there fairly often. I try to keep a few groups going at COSP, although I don't spend a lot of time on the forums there. The weekly chats are fun when I have the time. I am also a member at classicarcadegaming.com and arcade-collectors, but I haven't spent much time at either of those.

I go to CoinOpSpace.com a lot. The people are very friendly and don't jump all over you as they do here. I like the info on this forum, but many of the members are quick to scold people- noobs or anyone really. There are a lot of powerless folks that hide in there homes and throw daggers on these forums, CoinOp does not tolerate that and is very friendly and helpful in nature.

Sheesh... these forums are TAME... much tamer than they used to be, but even then they were tame in comparison to some forums out there. People just need to grow a thicker skin. Oftentimes folks take stuff waaaaaay to personal.
