OT: Today is a great day!!!!

This is offtopic, but i had to post in this section so that many see it. But today is one ofthe best days of my life. For those of you that know me personally, I have raised my two girls, Kylie, 12 and Paige, 10 years old on my own for a long time. Their birth mother basically walked out on them almost 7 years ago. And they have not seen her in 6 years. Luckily, 5 years ago i met a wonderful woman how took over the role of mother.

Well I just got home from court were the judge signed the papers to finalize and greant my wife final adoption on my girls. This has been a long battle and i feel so relieved right now. It cost me thousands of dollars, and many games. At one time i had to sell my collection of pins and vids to pay the lawyer. It is all worth it as well, and over the time i bought every video game and pinball back just so that i can say i am where i was, even the games that i really didnt want back.

So i am now very happy that my family is is whole, legally. Julie has been the mother to my girls, but now it is legal. They even issue new birth certificates that have her name listed as the mother on them.

So, thanks for reading my rambling, im not thinking completly straight right now as my mind is all over in excitement. My girls are so happy that it makes all the court hearing worth it

Glad to hear it Troy. I know you're a good guy from the business dealings I've had with you, so it's good to hear something positive went your way. I'll bet it's good to get all those loose ends tied up, huh?

its a great feeling, thats for sure. Several guys know the weight that this has been for me. It is like carrying a spyhunter on the back. Now that its over, its more like carrying a gutted pac cabaret.

thanks for all the encouraging words

troy

congrats on finally getting everything finished. glad that you and the fam are happy and that everything is finally all set.

Congratulations Troy...a lot of families never want to put the time and money into the legal issues that come up with a situation like this...your effort shows how much you really care for those kids..they are lucky to have a Dad like you.

Congratulations!
I'm jealous, I wish my ex would go away permanently.

Congrats Troy. This is such a great story and your kids will learn SO much about committment and love from you and your wife. They should be very proud!

Congratulations that is absolutely wonderful and I am very happy for you and your family. It's great to read something this positive and uplifting. Before I read this thread I was in a shitty mood hungover at work, but now I feel 100% better and I thank you for that.
