OT: Found some old school goodness in my closet I didn't know I had...

If you want any of these, please PM me as I will not be following this thread anymore...

I'm having a garage sale tomorrow and so I had my wife bring down all of my old VHS tapes and I found a few that I didn't know I had. I just got a VCR for free from a friend so I could submit my high score attempts to Twin Galaxies. When I saw these, I told my wife that I wasn't selling them until I watched them again. There are about 50-60 I am selling tommorrow but there are like a dozen that I will watch for old time's sake. I figured there may be a few here on the forums who appreciate the outdated and crappy quality of the VHS enough to spend a few bucks on a couple movies to enjoy them once I am done watching them. I will be done watching them by next week. Here's what I've got...

The one on the bottom right that you can't see the title on is The Omega Man.

I don't know how I ended up with two sets of the Star Wars Trilogy. I may end up keeping the one in the box set.

I figure a dollar a movie and you pay the actual shipping cost. I would ship it out to you and then invoice you the total. You can either gift it or cover the PayPal fees.

Post your interest here...not in the PMs and I will contact you when it's ready to go.

Is one of those Star Wars copies the version where han shoots first? Those are collectable if i remember correctly.

Yes. Han shot first on the Definitive Editions, aka "Faces" (closeup face covers), which the second set shown is. The later Special Editions and any garbage released after that is worthless.

I wouldn't neccesarily call them "collectible," since VHS is such an inferior video standard, but the WS Laserdisc releases of the Definitive Edition are somewhat sought after.

What other version is there?

Not sure if serious, but if so....
Lucas added in new special effects to the movie and when he did, he also digitally changed the shootout so that the bounty hunter shot first and missed...he made Han slide sideways a split second before the shot and then han shot the bounty hunter.

When you see the scene it looks weird in the new versions. Fans gave Lucas a ton of sh*t about this change....

Yeah. I was watching it on TV the other day and I said "WTF !" There was never a shot by Greedo that I remember.

Which of those Turtle tapes are from BK? Top 4 right? I need to call home and see which ones my parents still have, so I know which I might be interested in. Grabbed a Sky Turtles a few weeks ago at the thrift store, stoked to see it again.

Yes the top four are the ones from Burger King. I loved this show as a kid and I still do. When my nephews first saw them they hadn't heard of the show. I made them sit down and watch a tape. Then they were believers all the way.

Sounds like my kids... I showed them Thundercats not too long ago and they love the show, then caught the pictures of the new 'cats show and said they think the original looks much better :)

Do you have any FHE Transformers tapes?

Pretty sure that Han shoots first in this set too... ;)
