Hey guys,
After searching for a post that was similar and getting about 43 pages with few of them seemingly relevant, how bout suggestions for best Halloween music. Think along the lines of things you would want to hear waiting in line for a haunted house. Thanks guys.

Some movie ones I always use are:

- Tracks from Zombie-Dawn of the Dead soundtrack (by the band Goblin 1978)
- John Carpenters - halloween
- Theme from the Shinning
- Main title theme from Nightmare on Elm Street
- Title theme from Friday the 13th
- Undertakers theme music - WWE Wrestler

And then I mix a bunch of random no name tracks from various Halloween Cds I've collected and throw in some sound effects between songs like Wind, creaking doors, Wolves howling, a few screams here and there...

There should be a bunch of Halloween music on download sites this time of year.

Although it isn't as heavy, I still like to listen to some of the classics during Halloween such as: The Monster Mash, Werewolf in London and Thriller! Brentradio has a downloadable Halloween CD on his website that is pretty much nothing but Halloween sounds such as screeching doors, screams, etc. Pretty cool..

Depends on how long the wait is. I've tried many on halloween and use the Halloween theme.
It loops good and is constant.
here it is, just set it to loop

I dj sometimes and use the following alot on Halloween spins.

Any horror movie theme or score
Creature With The Atom Brain- Roky Erickson
Burn The Flames- Roky Erickson
Halloween- The Misfits (actually most of the Misfits would work. Find Project 1950. They cover a bunch of 50's and 60's hits, including Monster Mash)
The Raven- Alan Parsons Project
Bela Lugosi's Dead- Bauhaus
Cold Ethyl, Ballad Of Dwight Frye, I Love The Dead, Feed My Frankenstein- Alice Cooper
Break On Through- The Doors
Mr. Crowley- Ozzy Osborne
Do You Wanna Party- .45 Grave
Dead Man's Party- Oingo Boingo
Fire- Arthur Brown
Pet Sematary- The Ramones
The Dog- The Damned (song is about the girl in Interview With A vampire)
Code Blue- Flipper
Sympathy For The Devil- Rolling Stones
Killer Klowns From Outer Space theme- The Dickies
War Machine- KISS

This is off the top of my head right now and I can't think of anymore right now.

Here's an eclectic Halloween Mix I did back in 2005 with lots of tasty scratching and mixing and sample dropping. Recorded live in one continuous take. Plus, at the end, a track I did in 2003 made entirely of scratching.

Thought of some more that I don't think have been mentioned in this thread yet...

I Drink Blood- Rocket From The Crypt
No Costume, No Candy- Swingin' Neckbreakers
Now I'm Feeling Zombiefied- Alien Sex Fiend
Everyday Is Halloween- Ministry
Thriller- Micheal Jackson
Time Warp- Richard O'Brian (Rocky Horror PS)
Green Manalishi- Judas Priest
Black Sabbath- Black Sabbath
Wicked Anabella- The Kinks
Devil Went Down To Georgia
Ghost Rider- Rollins Band

Rocket from the Crypt. Nice one.

There's so much Halloween music out there its silly. Soundtrack music great for just scary background music. The Alien soundtrack is wicked. You can pretty much slap that on and let it play.

Alice Cooper - Welcome to my Nightmare. Don't leave home without it!

If you can find them:
- DOA by Bloodrock (google the lyrics......you'll know why it was banned from the radio)
- Timothy by the Buoys (...and nobody ever got around to finding Timothy....)
- Witch Queen of New Orleans by Redbone
- Put a Spell on You by Screamin' Jay Hawkins
- Psycho Killer by the Talking Heads
- Werewolves of London by Warren Zevon (I have actually eaten at Le Ho Fuks (and many of you have not...))
- Roland the Headless Thompsen Gunner by Warren Zevon (not Halloweenish but a gruesome image anyway)

If you run out of ideas, just google "halloween songs list".

Nice suggestions, here are a few more I'm loading in our juke

Blue Oyster Cult - Godzilla
Ran Dells - Martian Hop
John Zacherle – Dinner With Drac
Ozzy - Crazy Train
Strangeloves - I Want Candy
Jumpin Gene Simmons - Haunted House
Sam The Sham - Lil Red Riding Hood
Stevie Wonder - Superstition
Frankenstein - Edgar Winter
Vic Mizzy - Adams Family
Sheb Wolly - Purple People Eater

If I had the 45's I'd add:
Fastway's - Trick Or Treat
Munsters Theme

I enjoy "Chilling, Thrilling Sounds of the Haunted House" by Disney.

I have it on album, so I did not feel any guilt getting the Mp3 files from the Internet :D

Yeah, I scratch up a bunch of wolf sounds from that record on the link I posted. The Jedi Mind Tricks song also samples the water torture part.

Yea I listened to your mix, and it is eclectic!

Good job!

Thanks man. Mixtapes like that (with a lot of blending tracks together and scratching) are a dying artform. A lot of DJs are going all digital but in the process they're missing out on all those old records with weird samples. I've got an 80s mix I'm working on now that is going to be 10 times more complex and has a bunch of video game samples and whatnot.

There's a haunted house called Statesville Haunted Prison (right accross the street from the real prison) that plays some heavy alternative while you wait in line. I remember hearing:

Korn - Falling Away From me
Marilyn Manson - The Dope Show
Drowning Pool - Let the bodies hit the floor
Marilyn Manson - This is Halloween
Def Tones - Change

There were more but I'll have to remember them
