Orlando, FL is getting a Barcade- 'Player 1' opening Spring 2012!
It has taken a ton of work, planning, cash- and the hauling of 35+ machines from California to Florida... but I am happy to now officially announce that Orlando,FL is getting a barcade!
The Player1 Bar will be opening near Universal Studios in Spring 2012. We'll be featuring over 30 full size CLASSIC arcade machines, consoles of every generation, the best beers from around the world, and hosting art shows, live music, and tournaments.
Our FaceBook page is 'The Player1 Bar' and it would be a BIG help if my fellow KLOV brethren would 'like' this page for us if you get a chance. And/Or you can follow us on Twitter at 'Player01bar'. We'll be updating frequently with announcements and pictures of our progress as we move towards our spring opening. The more we can spread the word leading up to our opening, the better.
It's been a dream of mine for awhile now to try and do something constructive with this hobby I love so much, and exciting to see it happening after the long journey to get here.
I'm eager to get in touch with fellow KLOV'rs from the southeast, and especially local Central Florida guys, to discuss ways you can help out and be a part of this grand endeavor. If you're into repair, restoration, have more games than you can possibly store, have some helpful local area advice, are some kind of marketing guru, or think there are other ways you could help out- please pm me.
We are also on the look out for 2 machines we're going to be asked for repeatedly that are not part of our current collection- Star Wars and Tron; if you know of one or have one for sale, let me know. Also on the short list of wants- Dragons Lair, Punch Out, Gauntlet, Gun Fight.
We'll also be trying out some various deals with collectors who'd like to see their machines make a lil money: drop your game off for a few mos, keep %100 of what it makes and get 50$ worth of free restoration. Or use us as a retail sales shop, and throw a price tag on your machine. Just to keep the game lineup fresh and changing and maybe see some rarities that folks may not want to sell, but wouldn't mind having seen and played publicly for a few mos. Major Havoc, Journey, and Quantum owners- Im lookin at you
Been waiting awhile to make this announcement on KLOV and excited to share it with the folks I know will appreciate this place the most. This bar is for you all, and lets hope ta' heaven it attracts a lot of attention from the multitudes of beer lovers, gamers, and tourists visiting Orlando each year!
While we are now funded and backed by major investors, we do still have investment opportunities and will be selling shares of preferred stock from now until opening day, when we will close the initial offering. Contact me if you would like to be a potential investor and I can give you more information about stockholder benefits and our long term biz plans.
Thanks everyone, hit up our facebook page, and much more info to come soon!
