original vintage posters

Really? The only greed I see here is one guy hogging up all the ORIGINALS then profiting from all the badly scanned reproductions.

I just want to buy the Cliffhanger poster.I will not hoard the poster. But this shit went south real quick grow the hell up everyone. The hobby should be fun with not so much drama.

Or the OP could pretend he is Mr. Wonderful and get a residuals deal for every repro sold, in perpetuity after any intial compensation for the lot. But perhaps he's never heard of Shark Tank.

you're approaching it all wrong

everyone knows that globalization of the international poster market is on a 2:1 franchise reclassification, due largely to commodity instabilities in the Baltic states, and reticulant diversification inherent with demi-positivie employment disbursement.

i personally would recalcify any further financial cromulence by moving all unclaimed penny stocks into 420-class t-bill Roth fund, and recirculate any septuagenarian concerns by consolidating corporate hegemony.

it's really quite simple

I dont think it really went south all that far.
You basically have two opinions or mindsets in the thread (both of which are valid).

1) People who would like to see vintage arcade posters reproduced and made available to collectors.

2) People who would like to own the originals (presumably because they collect them).

I could care less either way because one way or the other the things are being preserved. Either in collectors hands or the hands of someone who is willing to reproduce the. This is a website for the preservation of Arcade games after all.

Lastly, and I will leave you with this.
If you think someone is trying to buy these to reproduce them to make a lot of money, you are either delusional or have no concept as to what "real money" is. I don't know how you value your time and your ability to generate money with it, but reproducing arcade posters is not at the top of my plan for financial success. Anyone will to to this and make them available at an affordable price is an asset to the community.
Cheers

I have three posters from Krackerjack (Highscoresaves)... all three were well scanned and printed quite nicely. I have Star Wars, Gravatar and Tempest. I'd be happy to take a photo of each for anyone who wishes that I do so.

Perhaps you got a bad print? How many posters of his do you own? Which ones? Did you inquire as to why said poster(s) weren't of the quality you expected and give the man a chance to either correct the problem or return your money? If not, that speaks volumes.

EDIT: I am not 100% sure if Star Wars was his... it was a long time ago that I got that one...

I would like to know this as well since I was thinking of buying the Elvira and Crystal Castles posters from them.

If most or all of what this guy has for sale has already been scanned, which seems to be the case, its not registering with me why that needs to be done again..

That's great if you are content on spending less money on crappy quality but don't expect everyone else to agree with you.

I collect original posters. Original posters are hard to find and have a lot of value. There were a couple i couldn't find so I bought his reproductions and they are nowhere near as good as the originals.

Anyone can use a copy machine but few can reproduce artwork properly.

now we're poster snobs too?

i'd rather have mediocre repro's than nothing at all. and i sure as hell ain't payin $100 for some worn-ass original poster that's faded and dog-eared with creases (to each their own, i guess)

buuuuuuut, at the end of the day, i'd just like to see done what best benefits the community.

if these posters are the good stuff (folded and not rolled) you may want to try and trade for a seawolf.
