I myself getting sick and tired of broken steering mechs in original SF Rush (the Rock) cabs decided to look over it from a mechanical engineering standpoint and noticed how they break easier. Two carriage bolts aren't enough to support the mech and screwing in the motor back area would make things worse.

The only suggestion I can think of for a permanent fix is to weld the mech (or large rectangular bracket) on to the base plate to better support the mech in addition to two carriage bolts. Any other thoughts on the engineering behind these steering mechs.

P.S. They aren't 100% the same as the more common steering mechs used in other arcade racers.
