I've been interested in this as well, but as far as I know nobody has orange flat molding. I think the new bright orange crowned molding looks lousy personally, but I'm not aware of an alternative.

(I'm also curious what the actual original color was as well, as to me the new orange looks too bright, but the original cabs are all faded, so it's hard to tell what it was supposed to be.)

Flat molding is also not available for Atari games as well. It's been reproed for Nintendo cabs, but I don't know why nobody's done it for other games, as there's just as many of them out there needing it, and the rounded stuff just doesn't cut it on any cab that is supposed to be flat, IMO.

Yeah it's too bad. I'd like to put new molding on the BZ I'm working on, but unless I can get the flat stuff, IDK if I want to pull the old stuff off, even though it's kinda hammered.

It faded over the last 35yrs.

Interestingly, there's a flyer showing it in black.

However I'm curious if anyone knows of any decent color pics from the 80's, that would show the original orange tint. (I did a quick search, but came up empty.) We know it has faded, but I'm interested to know how much.

I personally still think orange was an odd choice, as there is no orange elsewhere on the cab. Yellow or black look better to my eye, but I do care about the original color, for restoration purposes.

I've always thought that red t-molding looked pretty sharp. It compliments the red that already exist on the sides and control panel.

Orange isn't bad but it doesn't really match anything else on the cab.

I like the black molding on the original pac-man flyers, really pops. But then again, we put black molding on what, 98% of these games as it is. :)

I said T-molding, not T&A molding. Lol.

And thanks, those are decent pics. I guess it was pretty orange. That first pic looks pretty yellow though. I wonder if they changed colors at some point, or shipped a few with different colors.

Now I'm curious to look up old videos (Starcade, etc).

Yeah I know, just posting period correct stuff. I honestly thought that first photo I have there was from a movie but it's apparently legit. Pac-Man there looks like it has yellow molding.

You goofballs being all anal retentive about a color that you don't even know what should be lol.

Just google some original 80's arcade pictures and see what it looks like. The orange stuff you get today looks an awful lot like the original. I guess we are running out of stuff to nitpick.

When I replaced my Pac's t-molding, the unfaded inside was the same color as the stuff from t-molding.com. It was also completely brittle and shattered as I took it out.
