Yes this is definitely bullshit . A high bid under 500 but someone who couldn't be bothered to bid bought it immediately for a G ??!! I call shenanigans !!!

I was wondering who got it? Electronicsfix stated he would pay $1100, and that he was the high bidder. Apparently no one else bid enough to drive it up there. It is conceivable that electronicsfix may have bought after it relisted with best offer.

I was high bidder and it was my bid of 485 that was not driven up ( I put a higher price on it ) so anyone that says different is full of shit . Like I said - shenanigans .

Relisted and sold today 2/7/17.
"best offer accepted" under $999.95

Guess its a good thing he "sold" the game to the pawn shop for $1000. Looks like the shop lost quite a bit of money on this after fees.

For the record - my bid was higher than the 600 it supposedly sold for . So the "pawnshop" must be going out of business if this is their normal financial strategy - sell for 60% of what you paid and less than you can get .

Nice detective work. This whole thing is rather interesting.

Guy listing it here is basically full of crap.

Boy, you said a mouthful. There are so many brazen inconsistencies here, it's laughable.
Exactly "Where" was this item located??
I would imagine pinning down a location would determine feasibility for someone wanting to purchase the game at the time!

I got a grand for it from my local shop

"Local" shop? Is that the one in California or Georgia??

...and yes, I admit it sounding sketchy

Understated………

Hi!

Wow I feel all warm and fuzzy inside that many care so much about this item! :) Anyway, the company owner happens to live in California! Yay! Hence the business address! Forget the part in the auction where it states "We have been in business in Savannah, GA for over a hundred years..". And yes, the auction was taken down because a poster here decided that the shipping policies were misinforming (which was correct), so it was re-listed and corrected to "pickup only".
ANYWAY, all shenanigans aside, I can happily say that the ORIGINAL person who made the FIRST offer ended up with it and both parties are happy! (And I did give our shop owner back a few hundred since he made a deal for under the amount he gave me. So yes, all this mess could have been avoided if greed didn't step into it, but at the end of the day all parties are happy. Thanks everyone for your concern! Now, what should we do with this 1983 War of the Worlds standup!? Take care all!

I'd take it, but i'm looking for a cocktail version, or mini.

Maybe you should eBay it but then renege and sell it privately for less .
Just a thought .

Sell for less!

Hey NevadaMac, sometimes you gotta take less to smooth things out that admittedly was all screwed up! I know you are bitter, but it'll be ok. Besides, you yourself said your bid was not "increased" by anyone or from anyone shill bidding, but I believe it ended at around 480 something. So in actuality we sold it for more to someone that offered from the beginning. Anyway, it's done and over and now I definitely have learned on how to and how not to handle things. Any ruffled feathers will eventually calm themselves, and I have my list of some great new KLOV members to contact concerning any future sales (and the smart ass ones to avoid)! Thanks (and sorry) again all!
