i can't imagine any pawnshop even wanting the game, unless they paid like $25 for it.

no Pacman, Galaga, Space Invaders, Asteroids (i.e., a highly-recognizable arcade classic)? they offer peanuts or pass altogether.

Hmmmm, ups quote on ebay to ship to me from Georgia to arizona is $300 for this? Sounds way insanely low to me lol considering I was getting quotes from a couple states away for 900 ish for a standard upright

Yep. Error in shipping field by seller. Rather than selecting "local pickup" they manually entered a flat rate shipping amount of only $300. Wondering if they are going to come at the buyer if it ends up shipping to a far off zip code for the additional shipping amount (which is actually against ebay policy)?

should have been as easy as selling it to a klov'er at $500~1000 range here before even considering selling it to a local buyer or listing it on eBay.

More Updates!

Well not that I feel like I have to explain my actions, but I really do like this site and I like vintage video games and pinball machines! This is the first one I needed to sell, having traded for my others. Anyway, without me being shitty, let me answer some "insights"!

1) Originally a local shop owner offered $500. (Yes, but not the shop that ended up with it. )
2) Sought out a bunch of offers from KLOW members. (Members did message me and only one was higher than my local offer of $500.00)
3)Wound p receiving a bunch of offers from KLOV members via PM under the guise they would potently have an opportunity to purchase said game. (I wrote every message back and gave them updates on what was going on…even stating I was working out a deal locally. One guy I was slack to and I wrote him back and apologized.)
4)Goes radio silent multiple time intermittently throughout the time period of which said game is reportedly for sale (probably pitting offers against each other). (Radio silent? I answered all of my messages and even went as far as posting updates…if it wasn't daily, I checked every other day. Apart from my FIRST long silence which was my dumb fault caused by forgetfulness…)
5)In the end, sells it to a local shop owner for $1000 (double the original shop owners offer). (Nope. The record store offered me 500…my buddy with the pawn shop gave me a 1000)
6)Am I wrong to assume its the same shop owner? Or is Savannah Georgia a collectors Mecca for shop owners who want an esoteric arcade game such as Frogs? (Don't know how to answer this one..)
7)So he basically solicited a bunch of peoples offers to jack up the price up on "his friend" the shop owner. In my industry we have a term for that, its called "whoring your material".
Dude, next time just put the price on it that you want in the first place instead of jerking people off......... (Thanks man! Really cool of you! You are 100% right about me not knowing the value and after researching for many months I still couldn't find any that sold anywhere. I posted that I received an offer of $500 and members messaged me saying they would offer the same or a bit higher. Some other members hit me up to tell me that the game is in incredible shape and should fetch x amount of dollars. Since we still live in a capitalist land, I of course showed this to Eric and he gave me more. Locally. No shipping on my end. I'm sure people out there knew it was worth more, but hey, that's the name of the game. I am a seller, I want the highest I can get. A buyer naturally wants the lowest. Nothing wrong with that.

8) I used Klov and another site and two companies came up with good reviews. They said they pallet and shrink wrap and transport. One game about the same size went from Florida to Arizona for about $300.00 so I told Eric to put something down. (Yes I am helping him). He spoke about some other shipping deal as well in description. It's NOT for UPS even though it says so.
9)I call total bullshit on this entire thread. (Thanks again man! )
The pictures of this game on eBay are pictures of the game in this dudes house next to the Judge Dread pinball that he "thankfully didn't have to sell". (Yep…sure is…and I even wrote about those photos…and how the machine is STILL at my house!)
Your telling me that he sold this to a pawnshop for $1000 and they are listing it on eBay using his photos of the game in his house. The guy works at a pawnshop, just look at his profile (unless he changes it). Your telling me he works at a pawnshop and sold it to another pawnshop so that the other pawn shop could sell it on eBay. Give me a fucking break. (No break needed man…this whole deal doesn't have my butt chaffed…unlike you. I'm glad you care that much about it though! 
All he did was probe for information so he knew what to set a reserve on it when they sell it on eBay. (I thought this site was to share information to newbies and others about old video games and pinballs and such? I didn't think probing was required?
Anyway, thanks to the people that offered me good advice and insight, and I sincerely do apologize to the others. It did go down weird and looks way more complicated than it is. Bottom line, yes I had no idea what the value was and people helped me out with it. To be honest, that when the ball started rolling with my boss at the pawn shop (not the record store), I didn't have the balls to tell all those that messaged me and tell them all my offer was a grand. I thought people would think I was crazy because I thought it was still worth $500. "Just tell the price" would have been fine, but I still had no clear insight to what an honest value was. Some people after the fact said they would have had no issue paying that amount for it….well it goes both ways…why didn't they mention that?
Anyway, sorry some people got so upset over this…I hate to see what happens when I post the other pinball machines in the future! Now…about those guitars…

TL;DR, actually i read it all.

but, you STARTED this post with the title:

FS Game: Original FROGS Sega/Gremlin Excellent Cond. 1978 Arcade GameStandup

maybe you should have started a new thread in the PRICE CHECKS forum instead of misleading everyone on here?!

I don't know much about this game, but from the discussion and the condition of the game pictured, it sounds like it was easily worth the $1000. I think the only KLOVer that could reasonably have any beef with the OP would be the one that offered MORE than asking. You can't fire off offers you KNOW are low-ball, hoping a seller doesn't know what he has, then get pissy when you can't "steal" the game.

Offer what you're willing to offer. If you get it, great. If not...save the "sour grapes".

again..

Yes in hindsight I probably did use the wrong section and I was new. I apologize for that as well. I hope I'm still welcome here. I did not intend to cause such a stir....

I apologize if I came off like a dick, but surely you can understand my initial skepticism.
Anyhow, hope it worked out for you and you got your car fixed.
Cool game, sorry you had to sell it.
Best of luck to you.

Yep

Thanks man...and yes, I admit it sounding sketchy, but I'm an open guy...I do admit to beating around the bush because I didn't want to come out and say a price for fear of looking like an idiot in either direction. Thank you all for forgiving me somewhat :)

i knew we could do it, guys.

KLOV overcomes hate!

(no but seriously i'm glad all parties involved worked it out). hugs all around, guys. it's ok, it's not gay (NTTAWWT)

true...

1) Wrongfully represented? I don't think so. I admitted to skirting around offers and to me personally, any deal I do locally (especially to the person at the shop that pays me regularly) beats out any long distance deals.
2) Yes you did offer the 600...and I admit to being green and when Eric told me 1000, I obviously didn't want to say "Hey, all of a sudden i got an offer of 1000!" making you probably think I was full of it as well. With me going with a different buyer, it was all "who you know" and extenuating circumstances...
3) Eric owns a pawn shop...he is in it to make money. I have worked there on and off for over twenty years. I am a "roadie" working for a lot of bands that tour internationally. I am often not home and I make some quick decisions sometimes that aren't always for the better. I work for him when not on tour and I buy/sell/trade music memorabilia. I got into the games because I thought it was fun. I got a nice little present last year (a blood clot) and I couldn't tour for over a year. There goes my main income. I will not go back on tour till earliest April since the band I currently work for is in the studio. I recently had to have an MRI again (it being the new year my deductible was not met) and before that bill came I had already ordered new tires, rims, and lift kit for the Judge Dredd project I am building. So I used the truck money to pay the MRI, and then the rest goes back to the truck (everything came in so I gotta pay the guy).
I understand getting a good deal, but if someone knew it could bring over a grand, why did no one here offer that? Just checking.
Reminds me a couple of years ago I found a 1969 Porsche 912 on Craigslist in Texas for $3000.00. I called the guy and we had a deal! Sweet! The next day I call him to arrange payment and pickup times and he says "well, the bidding is up to $7500.00 now..." I was furious! (So I get it..and again sorry..I should have put $2000 on the thing and taken LOWER offers....)
Anyway, no hard feelings to anyone on my end (except to that guy who really thought he knew my story..I enjoyed his theories.) and sorry again. and I hope to contribute more and worthwhile things in the future. Traveling all over the world I see some pretty interesting stuff..and I'm a nerd...so anything Klov related, I'll drop a line. She is being whored out again cuz Eric wants to try and make a few bucks off of it now...so it is on ebay and can be picked up from his shop..Welsh Pawn Shop in Savannah.

"Eric"

I thought I mentioned it, but didn't want to rehash...anyway "Eric" is the owner, Welsh Pawn is the company. It is on ebay...if you can't sort through all of the other 1978 Frogs games on there, the Seller ID is Welsh1913. Machine is at the store. Maybe I'll be there to! :)
