Original Atari Centipede missing PROM (position P4)

Hi,

I don´t know the type of prom for find equivalent, only know the size (256bytes).

I seeking for a EEPROM equivalent to burn and boot up the board.

Other question is, the contents are specific for each board or a general content?

Thnx and best wishes for all!

I believe all or most of them used 2716 EPROMS. The ROM image on that chip should work from any revision. You can also use MAME ROM images in some cases.

Thanks.

But the PROM has only 16pin, i think a especial PROM type, the phisical size is similar a 74LS375 (by example).

I don´t recognize the type, and I seeked a lot of for something like a EPROM or EEPROM with same size and logical size (256 Bytes).

Thanks again, and best wishes!

That's a bi-polar PROM.....an EPROM...or EEPROM won't work. Hit up HobbyROMs....he can burn you a new one at a very reasonable price.

For the second part of the question, the contents are per-board, per location... So they must be programmed correctly to work.

That's the Atari sync prom.... you can grab one off most atari raster games of that era... prob cheaper to find a scrap board than to have one burned.
