I'm wondering if anyone else out there either has or creates their own arcade art. Not really marquee or cab art but actual decorative wall art either as paintings or drawings. For years I've done freelance cartooning/teaching on the side and I figured I might as well blend the 2 hobbies of cartoons and arcade games together. The great thing about collecting or creating this stuff is that it doesn't take up any floor space but keeps the hobby fun.

Here are a few paintings I've done over the past few weeks.
These are acrylic on 16"x20" canvas board.

Here's one still in the works I'll be finishing up within the next night or so.
I always considered this to be the ideal classy arcade pinup.

I have no artistic ability, but I definitely appreciate yours :)
Love the Gorf Girl!
If you ever sell prints, count me in for one.

I'll definitely consider doing a few prints but I'll probably also sell these originals here. The canvas board is pretty sturdy and is only about the thickness of a marquee. So shipping would be a cinch and mounting to a wall would be easy using mirror brackets or double sided mounting tape. I may even paint a few duplicates only with different color schemes. I figure I might do a run of the Computer Space design with a couple of the cab color options like the metallic red, green, blue etc.

I want to print some wall art with my 36" commercial printer..

but haven't found / not sure if exists.. poster size photo paper..

it really prints great to photo paper... but anyone have a source for poster size.. and what IS poster size exactly?

Nice paintings... and yes... I like the quarter girl.. she has a lot of spectators waiting 'in line' to play with that...

The Gorf chick reminds me of Taarna from Heavy Metal.

Attention Boise area collectors: Now taking donations to buy Empire a plane ticket so he can come out and paint murals in our gamerooms. Paypal accepted.

Yeah I perked up the tits a bit and removed the lace trim and Mr. T necklace she was wearing from the actual photo. I found another shot from the same photoshoot where she has one leg fully exposed (the gown has a full length slit down the middle). I might do another with that pose and a different color cab and background.

I went ahead and posted the paintings in the Trading Post.
$150 shipped for each if interested.

As a size comparison, they fit nicely over an Assault's glass.
Maybe I'll do a few "Out of Order" pinups you can lay across dead/sick machines to at least give them eye candy.

I've used live models before, girlfriends, friends, wife etc. You be surprised how easily they lose their fear of nudity/partial nudity if they know that they're going to be cartoonized. So it looks like them but still doesn't look like them at the same time. I'll sketch out the hair differently or alter the facial and body structure to better fill out the design. Sometimes add clothing or remove clothing. Make boobs bigger or smaller or hair shorter or longer as needed. Usually it's just basically using the pose to fit the concept. Nudie or non-nudie pics from the internet help also but you can't always find just the exact relaxed pose you have in mind so sometimes asking someone to arch their back and lean against so and so is easier. I freehand the majority of the poses most of the time but anything that gives me the excuse to use a live model (preferably naked) is always a plus. ;)

Most of the work I've done in the past have been on acetate film as is done with animation cels. Where you do everying thing in reverse. Put the linework/outlines on the backside of the film and paint the shadows and highlights and then the main colors last.
Basically the oldschool animation painting technique. I've worked in animation before (over 15 years ago) but it was still the "newer" scanning and coloring on a computer.

Here a couple cel painting pinups I did years ago.
