Orange Sherbet Gravitar

Looking great in every way. I love Gravitar, the game AND the cab.

Personally, I would have gone with the original black color for the t-molding.

This cab with it's beautiful shape and artwork really doesn't need any pimping....

Thanks Man. I agree, this is one of the better looking cabinet designs. I just get bored with my row of games and their matching black t-molding.

Another update here, I finally got around to doing the coin door this weekend. It's my least favorite thing to do, and I suck at it. I made an effort, to slow down and try to do a better job. Three hours went into stripping the paint, and that was using Klean-Strip. I used Rustoleum textured satin and no primer. The finish turned out well enough, better than any I've done so far. Lowe's had replacement screws for the coin doors and coin box control panel, these were all rusted. The coin box and test switch panel got taken apart, sanded down and painted too.

I'm just wrapping up here. This project is finished. The board is now in the game and is working great. It had been sent off to Eldorado Games. Their turn around on this was just 3 weeks, and they were easy to work with.

I also ordered a couple of yellow buttons from Twisted Quarter to replace the two weird mismatched ones.

This game is fun, hard, and very addictive, in a Ghost and Goblins sorta way, though not nearly that frustrating.

My before and after pics, enjoy. =)

Great job. I've done a similar restoration to 3 different games and they always turn out nicer than you think they will. Save the side art! Seriously, nice job.

Looks beautiful! And great job with the bezel too, I wish Atari would have done something nicer than black cardstock for their bezels! The made such great sideart!

Really beautiful!!!

Great job! Did you just use regular poster board for the new cardboard bezel?

Tom

I could not find black poster board. I used illustrator board, it's about three times as thick, and difficult to cut. I think poster board would work, it would certainly be easier to cut.

I have followed this on the Village and it really did turn out great. Glad you took the time to save the art and all the hard work you did to make it as nice as possible.

Next time I head over to Atari Jim's or Englishman's I might have to stop by and play a game or two. :beerchug:

That would be awesome, I'll supply the cold brews.

You folks are always welcome. I'm planning to open up the garage/game room for Halloween night if anyone cares to stop by.
