Wow, with that many people in the league I can see how finding locations would be a problem. Maybe they can consider splitting into 2 leagues? They probably already thought of this though.
I know that there is at least one other league in SoCal that meets weekly at Lake Alice in Riverside. I don't think they are associated with OC group, other than maybe having some people who play in both.
Really good article overall. We started a league here in Atlanta for 16 people and HAD to increase it to 20. We have 2 alternates and still have people mad that they can't get in.
It takes a lot of effort to set these up, but it's been a blast to compete. You also need people with a lot of machines ready to host every month or a large collection to play regularly.
