Orange County Games - a pleasant arcade surprise in Anaheim, CA
I took a road trip to this retail shop today, after reading some promo stuff online which emphasized arcade games. Also saw a lot of rec room stuff listed, so I expected to find the usual O.C. rec room store: heavy on billiards, darts, air hockey, and maybe a video game or two.
Walked in: the first thing I see are lots of pinball machines, a Tron cocktail, and a Tron mini. Good sign.
It got better. Here's the stuff I thought was priced reasonably for retail:
Carnival: $295 (black front and sides, original cardboard monitor surround with graphics, refurbished)
Jungle King: $495
Michael Jackson's Moonwalker: $395 (black cabinet sides, but looks like dedicated)
APB: $395 (looked in great shape)
Track and Field: $495 - $695 (various conditions; they had like 5 of them)
Some other, more pricey stuff:
Granny and the Gators: $1995
Funhouse pinball: $3795
Twilight Zone pinball: $4195
Orbit by Atari: $895 (very nice shape)
Computer Space: around $4k (looked in good shape)
Shark Attack (didn't see price)
Moon Patrol (didn't see price)
Huge collection of games from the 70s. Some they have in storage, available for purchase:
Tank 8
Gotcha
Death Race
Space War
Meadows Lanes
Jaws
Maneater (the shark mouth cabinet)
Sea Wolf
Clowns
Gee Bee
...and a lot more.
They deliver to the entire U.S. and restore machines for clients, even if you didn't buy it from them. They'll also do house calls.
So, haven't bought from them - can't vouch for `em re: quality, but they might be another good resourse. The trip was worth it `cause I got to play, for the first time, Kozmik Krooz'r ($1495). That cabinet is like 6 feet deep!
