Lookie what I did...pulled the stupid wire out by accident.

How do I get this open to re-solder it back on?

:-(

Well, I am not really familiar with that part, is it the spinning bumper out of an Orbitor 1?

Have you tried to look for an exploded diagram of the part in the manual?

I had a similar issue on my F-14 beacon motor. I was able to pull that top cover off and peel back the paper a bit. Then i was able to solder to the tiny wire that was sticking out

Sorry I should have said that it is a beacon motor from a Williams High Speed.

How does the cover come off? Does it unscrew or is it simply a pressure fit?

Thanks for the link! I have some 'dead' motors from a cyclone and high speed I'll have to dig out and go over. I broke down and ordered the $39 replacement from Mad Amusements to get my HS Beacon back to normal - installed it last week actually.

It's been interesting following your progress - sort of going through it myself. Right now I'm getting everything up and running smoothly before I dive into the major cosmetics. I've got a box of new parts just waiting for CPR to get those new playfields done, and I know I'm not alone...

Success!! Now I just need to solder it back together, use a TWIST TIE so it won't happen again and put it on the self until the head is painted.
