Got a chance to pick up a slot if I want it. I know pretty much bupkus about slots outside of what I've played in the casinos. It is a Hanabi that, from the picture I have, looks to be in good cosmetic shape.

I'm looking at between $350 and $400 for it. No idea if that's even reasonable. Not that I'd use it anyway. But I don't want to miss on a good deal that might then be a benefit to someone else...if you know what I mean.

The machine is here in the DC area, it was posted on the Northern Virginia (DC) CraigsList, so it isn't a long commute or anything. I haven't even seen the machine in person yet, or even seen it working in pictures or the like. The offer just sorta popped up. Not sure where I'd put it though, so thus the 'turn around' thought.

If it's a Hanabi, then it's most likely a pachislo skill stop slot machine, like this (although not specifically this title):

These aren't "true" slot machines in that you pull an arm and they spin and stop randomly. You push a button to start the spins, then push a button below each reel to stop each reel separately to try for a win (hence the "skill" part of it).

Most of these run on japanese tokens, but can be modded for quarters. However, I've heard a lot of complaints that the mechs tend to break or jam more often while on quarters.

And I see these typically sell for about $100-150. Unless this is one of the newer ones with the LCD screen mounted in the top, I wouldn't pay more than that....

I'm attaching the picture from the email I was sent.

Yep. Pachislo. I wouldn't buy one if I wanted a real slot machine. And I wouldn't pay more that $150 for one. There is a traveling electronics show ("Car stereos starting at $25!") that sometimes comes to one of our Expo centers and they have a booth that sells these for $149. Most places that sell them online usually price them at about $250-350...

Market Pro Computer Show and Sale I bet. They come out here about six times a year. While our local Expo never gets an actual Arcade/Pinball/Slot show, we do at least get a quarterly sports memorabilia show.

Thanks for the advice. I'll send a respectful decline.
