Well, the title basically says it all. I haven't had much time lately to devote to my own pins, but the bug has bitten me yet again. I'd like to "freshen up" my collection and The Star Wars has unfortunately outstayed it's welcome so to speak.

A good friend of mine has a FT, I haven't played it much, but from the small amout of time I've spent with it, I can tell I'd probably dig it. So what do you say? yes, no, who cares? let's hear it kids.

If it is a friend no big deal but SW it a cool game with easy resale. FT is probably a better game with less resale. I would keep the SW or flip it and buy something better than FT.

Just MYOP.

Thanks for the input sir, much appreciated. Honestly, I'm not too concerned with the value and all that. I now have a dislike for Data East (after working on them quite a bit), and I'm a huge fan of Bally/Williams.

That being said, I would honestly be interested in trading it for any Bally/Williams of equal value and condition. It's just that I haven't played FT very much and I think I'd enjoy getting better "aquainted" with it.

Also, my first post was a bit misleading, my friend is not interested in getting rid of his FT. So, I'll need to find one first, ha ha.

This is entirely speculation, but I think games like Fish Tales are going to increase in value dramatically. Many of the "A" title games are just way too crazy expensive. Then you have the "B+" type titles that have just recently gone crazy. Titles you used to be able to get between $2,000 and $3,000 but are now over $4,000. Now that those types of titles have gone nuts people are turning to the lesser known games like Fish Tales and Junkyard, and it wouldn't suprise me if those make the next jump in value.

Anyway, that probably doesn't matter to you, but Fish Tales is a great game. Some people don't like the theme but that's usually the most negative comment about it. The ruleset isn't super deep but it's good. I've never been a big Data East fan either due to the feel of them but I reserve judgment on specific games until I put some time in on them.

First off I own a Fish Tales, so I might be a little biased. I'd much-much-much rather have a Fish Tales then a DE Star Wars. It's not even close. I'd also disagree that Fish Tales doesn't have the resale. I don't have my game on the market and have gotten several offers. I'd also agree examples in good condition are on the verge of a price increase.

I agree - but it is all a matter of personal taste.

I like my fishtales and wouldn't trade it for ANYTHING DE.

With that said, I'd pull the trigger on buying a DE SW since I like the theme and its a pretty fun pin IMO.

Greggy, pretty much what we thought -- gameplay and manufacture are superior for FT but theme is much better for SWDE. I would say go for trade/sale if you can.

I would. Star Wars doesn't do much for me. It is a one trick (x-wing ramp) pony.

Tough call; lots of ramp shooting on FT as well, so similar in that regard, but I think I'd lean towards the FT as well.

If you end up keeping the DESW for a bit, check out the ROM hacks this guy is doing otherwise:

Not released yet, but a lot of changes (especially to the ramp behavior); something to watch if you're an owner of this pin.
