Wanted opinions on a possible trade.

I have a Starship Troopers pinball in good shape. Only thing wrong with it is some flipper button wear. Everything else is in pretty good shape.

Got someone local with a couple games they want to get rid of. Was talking to them about a Police Force Pinball in ok shape (cracked ramp), Afterburner vid in good shape, and a Mega Zone.

I figured this could pretty much be a straight up trade. I figured my SST is worth about 900 in this market. I think he is asking a little much for his stuff. I figured the Police Force is worth about 550 since I had one before, Afterburner at 250, and Mega Zone at 100. I would do all the driving as well (local deal though)

Am I pricing this about right?

i think you're undervaluing both pins. but overall if you're tired of the SST pin and don't want to go through the trouble of trying to sell and you're happy with the games received in return then it sounds like a fair trade.

personally, i think Police Force is a really overlooked pin from Williams' strongest era and i'd love to find one, especially for $550.

Well, when like 2 years ago I owned a Police Force. Bought it for 550. When I was done with it, took me a while to get back my 550 so that seems like a fair off. I would like to think my SST is worth more, but it doesnt really seem to be selling right now either.

I am mainly just wondering if this seems like a fair trade to the other person. Wanted to see if I am getting the values close.

yeah, i think the prices for pins is still stupidly high in the Seattle area (and for some video games as well.) i should just borrow a box truck from a friend and drive across the country picking up all those cheap pins from other markets and make money bringing them back here to sell.

I think you are undervaluing both pins, but I think you are undervaluing your ST more. The PF is more like a $700 game but your ST should be worth something around $1,100 or even $1,200.

I think he owes you at least a couple hundred bucks. Even if you can replace that ramp, it's still going to run at least $75.

I dont think the pins are going for that much here. Got my SST listed for $1000 on CL and no hits at all. Plus I bought and sold and PF back about 2 years ago I think when the market was better for $550. I am more interested right now in judging the 2 vids.

But I got an email from the guy saying he would do the trade if I wanted. He just wants to swap his games around. A couple years ago I bought a working Super Off Road for $200 from him and a double dragon with a board issue for $80 so he seems reasonable.

Afterburner's pretty cool and i personally think worth at least $250 for a nice example. the Mega Zone, eh, it was kind of a throw-away kit game that isn't all that popular; i think the value there is more in the type and condition of the cabinet and monitor. since it's Konami Classic pinout you could swap with other single-button Konami games like Time Pilot or Gyruss.

Now (NOV, DEC, JAN) is such a bad time to sell.

There might be a handful of schmucks out there looking for a unique gift. But all the hobbyists/collectors/etc. are not buying. They just don't have the money, time or interest this time of the year.

You might be able to pull off a trade right now, but if you have to sell you should wait till tax time when there are a bunch of schmucks and hobbyists with money.

The Mega Zone looks like it would be a good candidate to convert to a multicade. Looks like an 80s cabinet being reused. Might see whats under the black paint, might have some artwork.

I am more interested in the afterburner. Looks to be in good shape.
