Opinions on this RGB to VGA converter

I couldn't tell you really. I've got something similar, but it only works well with CGA signals. Medium resolution games hardly work and when they do the colors are horribly washed out. I've tried starting a thread asking some questions about scan converters in the monitor forum but no one has any opinions to share.....lol

I think the one you link is made by the same manufacturer as the one I have, which is a GBS 8220. Has an OSD and etc, supposed to accept CGA/EGA/YUV and convert it to VGA. As I said works well with most JAMMA games so as long as your running JAMMA superguns.......which is pretty much the only super gun....then you'll be fine.

Have you consider buying it from a vendor who haunts these forums?
My thinking is that you might get better support that way.

The pair of them I bought, Work great for me but I only ran them in CGA mode. I don't have any Medium res games to test them out.

These are the ones I bought.

I threw that link up there just as an example as there seems to be one major board type people are selling, I haven't decided where to get it from yet but I'll check that out.

Why don't you shoot an email to some of the vendors here before you buy?
Which ever one gives you the warm and fuzzies from thier support go buy it from.

I purchased the one that Nixs sells here and at his website. I have it installed in my Revenge from Mars and it works great so far. - Barry
