I am bringing really nice NFL Blitz cab back to life and I would like some input on which version to put in it. I was just going to go with the original version, but now I am wondering if I should put a later one in it. Anyone have any opinions on which to go with, are the later versions really better, or did they just update the players, stats and cut scenes?

I have 99, I like it better than original, I have original as well. I want 2000 gold, the upgrades are around 50$.

I know 2000gold has 2 new teams and more fields and plays. also updated rosters on all of them I assume

Blitz 2000 Gold is my favorite, as it is what I own... To be serious though, it has the most outrageous commentary out of all the games and biggest roster.

2000 Gold was the final version. For the record, when I worked at Alladin's Castle I asked why we never got the newer versions and the answer they gave me was that there wasn't a big enough difference to justify paying to upgrade.

I do like playing the original though. I own every version. Can't go wrong with any of them.

I had 99 and upgraded to 2000. Roster-wise both years are good--'99 has Barry Sanders and I think Dan Marino, but no Cleveland Browns. The Titans franchise is called the Tennessee Oilers. 2000 has the Browns and Tennessee is called the Titans, plus the Colts had Manning/Harrison/James, so I prefer that to Manning/Faulk/Pathon. I went to some historical NFL site to check out the roster differences between the two years. Overall, I kinda like 99 a little more, but since I use the Colts the most, I prefer 2000.

Thanks for pointing out the Marino thing Lukenatme. I am a Fins fan, so I think I will shoot for the original or 1999 to start, and try to find a 2000 Gold later.
