opinions on spectrum?

I love Spectrum, but the game play is odd and causal pinball players will never put forth the time to understand it. If you are looking for something similar to your Pinbot or Bride machine this isn't it. If you are looking for something with a unique ruleset this may be for you.

Yeah the rules are crazy. What makes me want it is how unique it is. It would confuse the heck out of someone who does not understand the rules. Going to get it going on Vp to see what I think.

I actually have money saved up for a new pin, prob going to just get my hyperpin going though. I need something a bit newer and it must have more than 2 ball multiball.

they are asking $500

Headed to Chicago in a couple of days and when I told the wife about this game and its crazy rules I could tell she is worried I would try and buy it right now. Will prob contact after I get back and make an offer. Seems strange old pins do not go all that fast on our CL. There are a few that keep showing up over and over again. If I could get it for $350 I would do it.

Spectrum is a pretty cool game, inmo.... I had a chance to pick one up from a guy in Canada for 9 bills but the playfield was immaculate! From what I've seen they're usually tons of wear by the flippers. Of course he backed out of the deal....

It's definitely different....You shoot color coordinated drop targets from "clues" you receive...I can't remember if it had multiball? There is no ramps or anything so I don't know if that's what you're looking for! Just drops.....

There was one at the last Allentown show that I think was $1000. I REALLY like Spectrum, but then again, I like Hyperball alot too, LOL.

Spectrum is GORGEOUS to look at. If you understand the rules, I think it's fun to play. Most, as already explained, just don't 'get it'. Unfortunate, because it is a cool machine.

These are not so common. If it was nice, I'd give $500 for one.

$350 would be a steal in my opinion :)

I did not want to bring up hyperball here, but I have been thinking it all day. Sure this one is more of a pinball, but still in the novelty category.

I called late this evening. Talked with her. Said they have had it since 92. I asked if anyone had called and she said nobody has bought it yet. mentioned I would call Sunday to see if she still had it.

I am in a tight spot on this one. Vacation days away is not a good time to buy a pinball machine. Been with my wife for 14 years Sunday and we have never fought. Mostly because I do stuff exactly this. If it is still there Sunday and I can deal with them I will be taking it home.

I find the machine very likable and a good fit for my small arcade. I love strange crap, this one intrigues me a bunch.

They said it has been sitting for years. I hope to work the acid damage angle I am sure is present.

Any local KLOVrz get it if you can. Then I can come play it ;)

Sent an email with a few Q's

Yes, there are legs. We recently re-carpeted our basement and needed to store it in a smaller place, so we took them off. It comes on when plugged in. We think that there is a loose wire. It worked great not too long ago. Give us a call when you return from vacation.

loose wire ;)

After playing 4 VP tables of spectrum I am not as eager. It is unique, but so strange and kinda simple playfield wise. If I can get a good deal I will do it though.

I'm close too. Was intrigued but don't think this one is for me either.

Saw your VAPS
