I can get a Sega Turbo locally for dirt cheap, supposedly in working condition, and the cab looks clean. I've never played one (other than in mame). Is it worth picking up? By dirt cheap I mean $40... :)

Here is the list of games you shouldn't spend 40 bucks for in working condition:

Dig Dug II

Everything else, even Spy Hunter II and Kangaroo squeak by at that price.

Uh, yah! Get it. You could make it a 'Buggy Challenge'. Cabaret or UR?

Nothing says early 80's like that game.

It's an upright, I'm going to pick it up tomorrow. Thanks guys - $40 for a decent cab should be a no brainer, but I just needed a second opinion. The only problem is I'm in the middle of buying a house and moving, so it will have to go directly to storage for now.

No love for Dig Dug II? :D

Hey, I liked Dig Dug II. And the cabinet's rare enough to easily be worth ten times that.

But in response to the question at hand, that's an awesome deal and certainly worth it. Turbo is a very entertaining game and, from my experiences, doesn't wear thin easily, but I would suggest you go for any $40 cab anyway :D Good luck with the pick up!

This should be a no brainer with any title, if its cheap, and it works, jump on it.

As far as the game itself, its very common, and not worth much (you are getting a steal though), but it is a decent game. It's no Pole Position and the migration is poor, but the graphics and gameplay are decent for a 1981 release. The full size upright is not heavy, but it is huge, just so you know.

I bought a Turbo Caberet a couple years back for $5 at an auction. Was in pretty nice shape too. But I put it on CL a little while later and sold it for $300!

Fun game if you liked it as a kid...but for myself, I found that it bored me after a while. But for the price, I say go for it!

I actually played this way more than Pole Position back in the day. I liked how the game went from day time to night time and you had icy roads and other cool stuff happen in the game.

I wouldn't want one now, though. I only have one driver and it's a sit down Indy 500. In hindsight I should have waited and got a Cart Fury.

Good game, but I got bored of it quick. I had a cockpit. I wonder why they put the shifter on the "wrong" side? Anyways, I ended up trading mine for a Hard Drivin - best trade I ever made...
