I have arranged to deliver a multi game about an hour away. yes, i am getting paid for the delivery, but i wanted to see what your opinions are for how to prep it for delivery.

I have cardboard to wrap around it and shrink wrap (i do want the 'presentation' for delivery as well). But the monitor had a cracked neckboard that i repaired - everything is secured on the game, but i am a little nervous that when i take it off of the trailer and put it in the home, if something were to happen during travel.

should i take the monitor out and have it tied inside the vehicle? better suspension means less harsh bumps.. it also has glass instead of plexi.. same thing, should i put it inside the vehicle?

thanks

We really need to know what game this is, and what you are hauling it in. A standard upright should be fine in any position if everything inside is bolted down properly. I have a little Saturn Wagon that I haul games in all the time (on their side). Photo shows another way I can haul games.

No matter how I haul them, I basically have a general checklist when delivering a game to the buyer. Get it in place, and open it up first and make sure everything is still in place before you plug it in. Then ensure everything is working and show the new owner how everything works before you leave.

If you are that worried about it not making the trip then you shouldn't be selling it like that. Just my .02

so, because i am worried that glass might break or that travelling 60+ miles, then i should just return them thier money and not sell any games? even a 'good' monitor could bounce around enough to pop a solder joint. but if you can guarantee that you never have these issues, more power to you.

it is a multigame in a ghostbusters cabinet. every bolt, screw, etc has been touched by me, so i am confident things are secure. I am hauling it in a 5x8 utility trailer with leaf springs. pulling it with my jeep wrangler.

i will lay the game on its back and strap it in securely.

i plan on unwrapping and checking everything then demonstrating it for the new owner, just as you describe.

You are the one that said it had a cracked neckboard that you repaired and you are a little nervous about the machine not working when you take it off the truck.

You are going through a lot to get it to them.
They should appreciate all the trouble you are going through.
To me, it sounds like either your worrying about it me then you should be, or it's more trouble then it's worth.

I meant to say worrying about it MORE then you should be. I can't type or spell for that matter today.

I always haul my games laying on their back. If the monitor is secure it should not be a problem.
I would on the other hand pull the glass bezel and put that in when you get there.

I didn't even notice that.
Thanks!
Being Saturday my brain is working as little as it has to!

I recently delivered a Dynamo... Got it inside the guy's house, Put in the boards, checked it over, No power... The fuse (screw type) somehow came slightly dislodged... Put it back in and all good... Scared the shit out of me...

theres an edit button.......as a certified retard who can't spell , I use it a lot .

Fixed... Not that I can spell either.

i take the neck board off when traveling and put it back on when im there at location. tiny dob of silicone should hold it on and not too much so the next guy cant take it off.

I like to use shrink wrap just in case a summer shower or something comes up plus wont have bugs all over it. It makes a nice unveiling too. We sometimes put a blanket over it too and shrink that.
Good luck

well i had lined it with cardboard and then shrink wrapped it. i did opt to take the monitor out and put that inside the vehicle. all went well. delivered successfully.

thanks
