Hello all,
Just curious if anyone more more knowledgeable than me has an opinion to what is the best Neo Geo PC board....Not cartridge. I have a single that's a bit older, and a bit larger. I'm sure the (2,4 & 6 slot boards would certainly be nice, but some of the singles are probably more reliable and smaller to boot. Personally, I think I would want one that has rca outputs so the sound can be sent to an external amp for some really kicking sound. But to my knowledge, none offers the rca outputs. I suppose, someone could always use the stereo outs to send into an RCA plug or directly into an amps inputs. Either way, whats your preference and why.

you could use the headphone outs from some boards to go into an amplifier.

and which board you want would depend in part on what you wanted to do with your machine. single-slot is often the most reliable for multi-carts, but not all single-slot like multi-carts. 2 and 4 slot are the most reliable of multi-slot boards but might not deal with multi-carts well. 6-slot boards are the most flaky of all the boards and often don't deal well with multi-carts but of course offer the most non-multi-cart flexibility.

It also depends on what all you want to be able to do...do you want to use memory cards? Do you want to install unibios? Do you want/need the cart to mount a certain way?

I had an MV-1 for years, but the sound started to go out and I decided to pick up a MV-1C instead. Unfortunately, MV-1C I got was JPN even though it appeared to be US and since the BIOS is soldered, installing unibios is a bitch. Soooo all my games play in Japanese now - that still pisses me off.

Advice: I have been happy with many purchases from Arcade Shock, but I wouldn't recommend buying Neo hardware from them unless the region is specifically stated in the posting. Several emails to them went unanswered so I have not bought anything from them since.
