Please read it's not your typical Mame cabinet question.

Recently acquired a 4 player Konami cabinet and I pick up a TMNT board this weekend (love the turtles art so I'm ordering new art today) But now my mind has been working OT thinking that I have 2 more spots (one is reserved for KI) in my arcade and there are so many games I still want. I have all dedicated machines and have always disliked Mame and emulation because mainly because of all the buttons. Sounds dumb but if there are 2 buttons for a game I only want 2 buttons on the CP. I DO NOT want to have to think about what buttons to use.

So with all that said I've been thinking maybe trying emulation for strictly 4 player 2 button games in this turtles cabinet. Any issues with game play in the Mame 4 player games? What other games am I missing from this list?
TMNT
Turtles in time
Simpsons
Sunset riders
Wrestlefest
Spider-Man
Gauntlet
Cadillac and dinosaurs
Caption commando
Vigilante
Gi Joe
Rampage
Cowboys of Moo Mesa

I'm pretty sure I do not want any 3 button games, again I hate having to think about what buttons to hit plus want to maintain the orginal turtles control panel look. I already have dedicated Blitz 99 and NBA JAM (looking for the hockey PCB to run a switcher) so 3 button sports games are covered. Also considering running some 3 button 4 player boards in my JAM cabinet so I think a dedicated 2 button cabinet is all I need

Anyone try this set up before? Am I an idiot for these thoughts? Opinions?

Go for it, if it makes you happy.
And having only a handful of titles in a multi
is actually a good idea -- less "menu choice overload browsing boredom"

Anyone know a safe site to download a frontend that makes Mame boot to a screen similar to a 60-1 with the 20 or so games I want.

You try check out hyperspin. It's a pretty cool system to use. I have a mame cab setup with it. You can also check out Mala, easier to configure. Both can be skinned and with hyperspin, you can have game specific themes, so that when you select a game you can have custom animations and images appear.
