Here, here Tron Guy.

But, I think what happens is people get caught in the moment where they can get something "on credit" and then later after the newness wears off, they find it hard to part with the money to make it right. Hopefully Joe will make it right though.

Exactly , same thing happened to me with one of my friends taking a game before he paid , then when I asked for the money like a month later after he played it nonstop and got a little bored with it , he then decided he didn't want it . I was mad but was like whatever and went and picked it up and we're still friends because I didn't make a big deal about it.

Just go pick up the DK Jr , keep your friendship and make better transactions next time .

guess you need to check the coin counter and see how many
quarters he owes you.

Damn, I wish I wasn't thousands of miles away, I'd take a DK jr cab.

But yeah, just go get it and try to "Kiss and make up" if you value your friendship.

the game will be gotten by someone i dont want the damn thing but what you g uys dont get is i really dont want a friendship with him i have enough shit in my life to deal with other than having people like this around me. i dont let people burn me twice

You don't have to be friends if you don't want to anymore , but really theres not a solution to this problem . If he doesn't want to pay you , hes not gonna pay you . Theres not really anything you can do . You let him take the game without paying and setting an EXACT time to pay .

like I said I've been through it with one of my friends . He pulled the same crap with me , I knew he had the money but he just lost interest and was hoping I'd forget about the game or something . Some people do deals like that so I've learned never to sell ANYTHING to this particular friend of mine without him giving me the cash in hand first cause he always pulls this crap with everyone . I expect it from him .

Anyways you gotta go get the game .

It was a bum deal , didn't work out , this crap happens , don't do deals with him any more .

Well, if someone wants to be that big of an a-hole, then I'd just sue him for breach of contract. You have an e-mail from him where he stated that he took a game from you with the understanding that he could "pay later" at some undisclosed time. This means he owes you, or must return the property. HE must return the property. And pay your court costs to boot.

Now, I see where you're coming from. He agreed to pay later. A month has passed. I don't consider a month to be "anytime soon". When you ask for money and he tells you he doesn't have it, I can understand that. But then the guy is out publicly spending money on new deals when he KNOWS he still owes someone else, and that the someone else needs the money. This means he's purposely not paying you because he thinks he already has it and he can spend his money on "new toys", instead of using it to pay for "old toys".

I'd tell the guy he has three options:

1) Pay you.
2) Deliver it to you.
3) Explain it to the cops who are going to accompany you to repossess the property he took without paying for.

I don't know that I'd go get it without cops. I wouldn't doubt you'd ether get into a big argument, a fight, or find the cab is worse shape than when you dropped it off. Make sure you take the printouts of the e-mails with you.

And I don't care how nice the guy is in person. If he has to be a dick in the written word, then he's really a dick in real life. It's not hard to be disagreeable-but-civil.....

Ok you guys want me to respond I will, I'm not here to slam taylor or say anything about the situation, those who know me know my character and the type of person I am! I tried to resolve the situation in a mature PRIVATE manner and never wanted it to go into a public forum. I am in no regards holding onto to the game or am playing it, I can't as all the parts were never supplied to me. How can someone ask for money for a game that's missing parts that were promised in the intail deal? I also never ever stated that I wasn't paying for the game or backing out of the deal! In regards to other deals and spending money on other things I havnt done one transaction. I just spent thousands of dollars out of my savings to cover funeral costs of my father if u all need to know. People jump to accusations about deals I'm doing or people I owe money to without even talking to me. I valued taylor as on of my closer friends, but I've learned in life you can't please everyone all the time! I'm sorry this ended up in a
Public forum and did everything in my power to keep it in private were it should have stayed. You can judge me how you like and there is no way for me to please everyone. I will not comment or respond to any further posts on this topic.

I think we can all relate to this situation at some time in our life?

The one guy wants the game the other game wants to get rid of it, pretty simple.

The subject of money comes up of course as this is a transaction.

During the conversation regarding money the guy that wants the game has hinted, told, or indcated in some way that while he wants the game he can not pay at this time.

As these two are friends the seller gives him the game with the understanding that the buyer when can will pay for the game and complete the transaction, in good faith he gives the game before receiving payment.

What happens next would make me feel uncomfortable if i was the seller. The Seller logs onto KLOV one day to find the buyer (who could not afford to pay right away for the game) buying up other games. So the seller of the dkjr feels insulted, taken advantage of , and if they were friends hurt!

This has happened to me with friend, for example i gave a $500 loan to a guy for "food" for his family. The next day i see the guy at hockey and he is showing everyone his new hockey gear he bought the day before. I had told the guy pay me "when ever" I should have given him a time frame because of course he has to live and would at some point be purchase things. (how did i feel? shocked the guy now had nicer gear than i did and i am out $500 lol, turns out his Mother in law the same day before he got home when i gave him the money had filled the cupboards with food! but i didn't know this till much later.)

I don't know either guy and i am sure both are good people, these things happen. Perhaps both can agree that in some part they were wrong? dkjr seller should have set a time frame ie: 3 months for payment? and dkjr buyer looking back can probably see how buying other games (no matter of payment arrangements with these new seller) would make dkjr think he is getting burned?

My two cents, good luck, use the force, and as my Father has always told me: "Pay as you go and you never owe"

Like i said i am new here so could be way off, hope you two work it out and can have a laugh one day about thins over a beer!

joe really did you read your emails you sent to me? i have the parts plus others i was planning on giving to you as i told you on the phone last week but that is not the issue here and you know that. your character is bad as you proved in your multiple emails to me 90% of what you emailed me was no where near related to the topic you did everything in your power to degrade me in those emails instead of talking about the deal at hand. this isnt about friendship to me it is about completing a transaction based on your word. once you emailed a threat to delete my posts and tell me

" Don't start public slamming posts or talking shit about me it will be a huge mistake! "

i will post it so everyone can see what kind of person you are, i never made this personal and you never tried to discuss payment simply rambling and name calling i have never lost respect for someone so fast in my life. and that dragons lair 2 you keep rambling about you bought it i said i was interested and you put an nos player in it and i lost interest because i couldnt afford it dont act like you bought that because i said to thats just bs and you know it

I should point out that I know both guys, and hold them both in high regard. I consider them both buddies, and people I would look to for advice in this hobby.

being from overseas i dont know either joe or taylor, so i am viewing this from an emotional distance.

apparently both joe and taylor are both going through tough times for different reasons. tough times makes for high stress and it is easy to say things in the heat of the moment that can hurt another party.

but after reading the thread content, it seems to me that as tron_guy knows both joe and taylor maybe he could act as an independent intermediary that both may trust. tron_guy could be substitued for by any independent intermediary that both parties would trust.

here are some ideas/options (not saying they are necessarily good ideas, just independent ideas):

OPTION A (takes problem off both joe and taylors hands)
=============
Someone else buys the game and parts from Taylor, payment in cash on collection from Joes. hopefully someone may do this out of kindness to help both klovers out of their respective situations!
Tron_guy acts as intermediary to ensure Taylor is not short changed.

OPTION B (compromise option hopefully leading to reconciliation)
==============
1. as joe committed to buying the game, and as taylor indicated he really needed the money, joe should give the previously agreed amount to tron_guy to hold pending resolution of parts, joe should also consider paying for a cap kit and if decides to do so, give that money to tron_guy. joe should also give tron_guy taylor's loaner 20ez chassis(?).

2. when tron_guy has the money and chassis, taylor should install the parts for joe, if joe buys the cap kit then cap the monitor. make sure the game is working properly (demo using another monitor if necessary) so there are no complaints about game operation.

on completion of 2., tron_guy hands the cash (for the game, game parts and optional monitor cap kit) and chassis (?) to taylor. both guys win. joe can onsell the game if he wants.

joe and taylor shake hands and wish each other well.

OPTION C (least preferable by Taylor, most prefereable by Joe)
=============
Taylor collects game from Joe. If game has been damaged in any way by Joe whilst in his custody, Joe should immediately re-imburse Taylor for damage. Taylor puts game up for resale.
Tron_guy acts as intermediary to ensure Taylor is not short changed.

OPTION D (wild idea, not knowing proximity of tron_guy to joe or taylor)
=============
Tron_guy takes possession of game and parts from joe, returns chassis to Taylor and then on-sells unwanted game for taylor. re-imburses taylor on sale.

Hopfully that is a useful independent perspective! Good luck to all!

If you both communicate in real life on par with your written grammar, I can understand the breakdown in communication. My eyes gloss over and I can't finish reading either of your rants!

Pick up your game and move on.

It's not that you shouldn't let somebody walk with the game without paying you first, it's that you should never loan money to friends, period. If you let your friend owe you some cash, it has the potential to get ugly. You should just give him the game and move on. I never loan anybody money. If they're not your friend they can use somebody else as their bank, and if they are your friend and need money, just give it to them.

Well I think Acejedi should bring the game back, or hold it and have arcadejunkie sell it and have the buyer pick it up there...

Take it to Judge Judy. You know who she'll side with, and you'll both get paid appearance fees...

Haha that would be a great show , I'd love that .

She'd make Joe return the game and pay some type of interest for the time it was in his possession .

Nope ....... I loves me some Judge Judy.
If there was no "meeting of the minds" as to when the money would be paid the there is no enforceable contract. She would talk about getting things in writing, call them both stupid the try to get Joe to agree to a payment date. If he said he didn't want it anymore she would tell Taylor he has 5 days to pick up the game.

Not a lawyer just watch a lot of Judge Judy. :)

I should kick both of your asses for not writing out a contract !!!
