Opinions needed - Harbor Freight 5lb vibrator/tumbler

Let me know if you want me scan my instructions and can send them to you. You can leave it run for 24-48 hours no problem from what I've read, but due to a small house and its in the basement, I've only run it for 4 hours at a time so can't comment. Congrats; should do you well with the warranty.

Thanks for the offer, let me see if there's somewhere I can download it from before I trouble you with that. That's what I figured with the run time, a couple of days max, but until I've used it for a while I don't want to trust living it running when I'm not home.

Another observation I've made is fortunately it doesn't seem to have a tendency to "walk" like I feared it might, at least it hasn't on the concrete floor I've put it, so far it seems content to stay put.

Yeah ditto on the warranty, I figured as long as it cleans well if it croaks a couple of times over the next few years it doesn't bother me, for what I paid I don't mind bringing it back occasionally for a fresh one.

Harbor Freight is great for some things, but a good rule of thumb for that store is don't buy anything with an electric motor.

I would have to dissagree. I bought a coedless impact from there, I think after buying the batterys and charger I was out $50. We used it for 1 year of racing, I used it for everything. Never had a problem and the battery seemed to last, I even broke some wheel studs when changing tires. For the price I figure if it only lasts a year I got my moneys worth out of it.

If you want to buy from them you should sing up for there free email club. They send you 20% off coupons all the time.

Again I think it's a quality control issue, which certainly would explain the extreme difference in experiences with their power tools, you're at the mercy of whatever mood the slaves were in that China happened to have working at the factories that day. Duly noted about the coupons! I've been eyeballing their 7x10 mini lathe for a while and may have to sign up for those, which would bring it down to about $319 when it's otherwise on sale.
