I have a Dynamo HS-5 Cabinet (I believe), which was found near a dumpster in pretty good shape and had it refinished by @ArtMAME locally here. He always does a great job, and this specimen is no exception!

It's basically a blank canvas: no PCB, no power supply, no marquee, no bezel, no side art, etc. The control panel is the typical joystick with 6 buttons per player (not pictured).

I've been racking my brain on what game to put in it. I love hockey, but one hasn't appealed to me yet. Was there a "typical" game(s) that were in the cabinets back in the day? Love to hear you'll's thoughts, opinions, roasts, and ideas!

I have a wonderful HS5 (currently for sale). These cabs were the gold standard for Capcom fighting games in the 90's. They are flexible cabs, though, perfect for any use really.

I think (just based on decades of experience with these machines) they were fighting game forward because of the larger size of the cabinet compared to the HS1 or other smaller models, so two people could stand next to each other in an arcade, on the same machine, without getting too much in each other's way while playing. Because of the larger size and flexibility, they could be easily converted from one game to another. The pull out tray is also a nice feature - added additional weight to an already bulky cab, but made servicing and replacing boards a snap.

I was thinking about a fighting game too. I may experiment putting in multiple games with a switcher just to do it

I'm more of a Golden age guy so for jamma I don't have much nostalgia. There are so many great jamma games that I have never or barely got to play. So maybe just buy a bunch of different PCB's as they become available and Go for It!

Also is the Missile Command for sale?
