Opinion: "Remodeling" classic skeeball machine in non-"authentic" colors

Just realized there was a whole restoration board! New to the forum... I already posted this specifically on the Redemption machine board, but thought I should surely post it here... Looking for opinions and discussion:

I may be purchasing a classic Skee Ball machine, but wondered what people's thoughts were as to completely changing the color scheme of the machine, if I plan to keep this long term for myself. I love the old skee ball machines so much, like from the 50's... yet I really want the 100's... So i'd considered changing the color scheme on the red/yellow from the 80's/90's... i know the cork can be hard to find... but there is a company out there already refurbishing machines to non-Original colors (not crazy different, but different nonetheless)... here is one of theirs:

This one has a black alley/backboard for instance, and silver side edges instead of yellow.

I'd love to know folks' opinions about this. I know it wouldn't interest a hard core enthusiast if you were to go resell...

Unsure how I would handle the top display, but these color schemes:
