ok so here is my problem i got this thing to work it was fine but the dip switches were stuck so i sprayed them with some contact cleaner to try to free them up then next time i turned the game on the color is now off the white letters have some red tint to them now so i then replaced the dip switch banks and all the 220uf caps thinking i may have got cleaner on then but still red i would replace the ceramic disc but i can find them in the value i need (104e 25v i thinks thats a .1uf ) so my question is am i going in the right direction replacing caps or is it most something else that i should be looking at. the tint doest really bother me but this game wont calibrate unless the screen is correct i need the white back i know before when i shot was fired a white flash would happen and now this its a bit red i cant shoot at the top or bottom of the screen.

thanks for any help or ideas

op Wolf

It looks like you are going in the wrong direction. Contact cleaner usually does not leave a residue that will cause the problems you are describing. I would not waste my time replacing the disc caps. You will end up with damaged traces.

I have a Op Wolf, Take a look at the connections to the board. Since the board set sits in a pull out drawer the connections have a tendency to become loose or out of position, from sliding the drawer in and out.

Look at the simplest things first. The dip switches are for coin in and game options, not color.

You can use a tooth brush and some ISO alcohol to clean the board.

ok so here is my next question can i scrap the filter board and just rewire the whole cab and bypass the filterboard it just looks like it goes straight through except there are a few ceramic disc caps on it.

That game use to give us nightmares. Reseat the chips, then look for loose connector screws on those nightmare connector strips. Also look for broken wires to the same connectors. A common occurrence with that p poor designed drawer.
