Picked up this operation wolf for $25 the other day. Guy said it worked and he just needed it out of his way. Get it home, of course it doesn't turn on. No signs of life. Believe I have located the problem to this metal box, which seems to be blowing a fuse. Problem is - no idea what the box is or does. It's rusted, I think it says some numbers and rectifier on it- any idea?

Make sure you've tested all the voltages at your power supply as well. If anything looks off it wouldn't hurt to replace it as well when ordering your other part(s) since some of the stuff is rusty.

Round 2? Looks like a transformer....

This part has a short in it- it connects to the auxiliary power supply. I can't find the proper name for it to look it up and buy it. It's not the monitor one. Monitor is working. Many thanks! Also- I replaced the power supply with a working one- so proper voltages at it. The boards however don't have proper voltages- low or absent in some areas.

That is a transformer (monitors have an isolation transformer with 120v in, 120v out, but isolate).

This provides power for the sound amp and the gun recoil. The voltages are maybe 14v and 18v. (So 120v in, 14v/18v out.)

You'll need a replacement for the game to work.

I have one of these if you need it, however I don't have any idea if it works or not :dontknow:

If it's AC in (which it looks like) I can give it a test.

Not being hateful in anyway. Every transformer is AC in and AC out. DC won't induce a current from the primary windong into the secondary winding.
