Hello all, i'm new here and bought my first arcade. I'm creating a bar space in my new house and wanted a good old retro game with it.

Anyways, it works great.. but i know the gun should have recoil on it. Except it does not work. Does anyone have an idea on what i should check to get it to work? I searched the forums but found people saying they fixed the issue not mentioning how they fixed it :(

Would be great if some one helped me out here!

Welcome to the Madness !!!

took the gun apart out of curiosity, one wire was not connected to the little coil

soldered the wire back on the little coil there and !!!
could not determine why the wire was not connected

could be on yours the coil is burned out, or a button problem
open it up and have a see

Same problem here.
I first checked for the 12v and ground at the gun - good ground (switched ground), but very low voltage. checked the wires all the way back to the board - good continuity. Determined via the schematics my main board to not be supplying enough voltage. I pulled 12v from another area and gun works! Since the ground actuates the gun and the 12v is present at all times - I just left it.

Another possibility is that the gear that drives the shake is worn out. Open the gun up and check that the gears are good.

I had an Operation Thunderbolt with broken wires, but I also had a Mechanized Attack that just had a screw come loose on the actuator. New screw and the problem was fixed. But like everyone else said. Take the gun apart and see what the problem is.
