It seems I will be acquiring a Bottom of the Ninth in a Punch Out cab...

I am guessing I will be needing EVERYTHING to convert this thing back to Punch out...

Harness...boardset...control panel...artwork... etc

Any suggestions on where to start?

If the playchoice dual & Punchout use the same power supply (plus ISO) as the single monitor playchoice 10, then I have a p.s for you.

I'll see what is included tomorrow. It does have two working monitors in it though.

BTW: Which is a better game? PO or SPO? If you could only have one, which would it be? There's still no multi option for this game, right? Finally... does PO or SPO save high scores?

Punch-Out does save scores.

Frizz, this seems like a losing proposition. You are going to be spending a lot of money to get this thing going. Good luck.

Gunna take a gander at the cabinet... I'm getting it for $100.00 with two working 20EZ's... certainly not a "losing" proposition... Plus, wasn't 2600 possibly doing a PO/SPO multi or something? If so... with that be JAMMA (I seem to remember him talking about doing something ala JROK's JAMMA multi Williams).

EDIT: Being that I am in need of a 20EZ flyback + HOT that would cost me $50 or so shipped, this deal looks even better if restoring her isn't in the cards.

Maybe it'd be cheaper to make it a PC-10? NES on a timer... perhaps I'll become a "convert"?

Frizz, since you seem to spout your every thought for your abwhoring public to hear, read or ponder, perhaps you should get some facts straight. You have based your hatred of the PC-10 system on one major factor. The Timer. A PC-10 can in fact be set to freeplay, eliminating the timer's need and function. You can play as long as you are able. The button configs for reset, game selection, etc will change when you do this, so do a little innernet digging to see what button combos do what.

Hey Frizz, I was just in Jeff's ( jplj44 ) warehouse early this week....I know I saw a Punch-Out kit and some other bits. Maybe shoot him a PM or e-mail.

Yes, it is worth it for the monitors but tracking down the other parts could be a pain and expensive.

Welp, the cabinet was delivered ... I coughed up an extra $20 for delivery (my arcade hauler is down with a power steering issue). The cab itself is in pretty decent shape. Decent enough I may not even need to paint should I decide to take this bad boy on...BTW: I do have the marquee and plexi as well...just not attached.

Here is how the insides look. It appears to be a pretty damn clean conversion (aside from the whole two monitor thing). Unfortunately there is no Punch Out harness, power supply or cage to be found.

But Bottom Of The Ninth works... the top monitor has a bit of burn but the bottom looks great (behind plexi at least). Also, it appars to have included 2 Wico leaf spring sticks (not 100% sure if they are actual Wicos yet, I've not pulled the CP).

I played a game of BotN and it's actually a pretty fun Baseball game it seems.

That cabinet looks great. Take it back to it's former glory.

Just an FYI....You can run Punch Out from a standard switcher. No need for a Nintendo power supply.
