I've been meaning to post this for a while now, but I am just too damn slow. I went on a little arcade bender a few days back and here's some ramblings of my adventures.....
Tuesday, July 12th -
I drove up in the morning from Eldersburg all the way up to the Newark, NJ area to meet up with Barakawins and pick up his Missile Command (suhweet!). It was nice to meet him and we had a nice little chat before I headed back to MD. The MC works nice but needs some trackball work. I have a brand new t-ball and a rebuild kit ready to go. I have a new MC CP on the way, but the CP the is already on the game is not bad. Anyway, it was a nice trip & mission success!

I drove over to Riddler's Realm on the MD eastern shore and got there pretty damn early - say around 8:30 or so. I had told zfcamaro to expect me early, but I still had to roust him out of bed when I got there. As it turned out, he had gotten his new serial # 005 Tron LE pin the night before and was playing it all night. That is certainly understandable. It was awsome to get a chance to play the Tron pin. I loved it, and I am a fan of the films as well. It was also very cool playing his Avatar pin. He had a great collection of vids, to boot. He showed me his Journey - that's the first time I have seen one in the flesh. Well, the reason I went out there was to pick up a Kung Fu Master he had offered for cheap. I am considering converting it to a Moon Patrol. It was a great deal and it was nice to meet Chris and see the 'Realm'. The fluorescent painted starfield on his arcade ceiling rocks! Unfortunately, the cab I picked up did not have a back door, and I snapped the neck on the mon pulling it out of the van! I have moved games without back doors before and was able to extract them safely from the van with some care - but not this time. I was so pissed at myself for f'ing up a perfectly good mon. Oh the humanity. Chalk it up as a lesson learned.
Well, the day was not finished for me yet. I drove over to Lloyds Coinop warehouse in Gaithersburg to pick up a Crazy Climber he had (orange Taito cab). It was complete, but not working. It was kinda pricey, but fairly comparable to what CC's have been going for lately, and ya don't see too many of these anyway. Or at least I don't. I had long had a CC project in what was a Polaris cab, that I had got from Lloyd years earlier. I had a CC panel for that old project, as well as a bezel, marquee, and a working pcb. Now I guess I might sell the Polaris cab if there is any interest. I have the CP and the bezel and the marq for it. I also have a Polaris pcb, status unknown. The CC cab I just got is pretty damn dirty, and does have some water damage on the top of the flat top cab. I have not even had time to look it over beyond that.
While I was picking up the CC, I made the mistake of browsing the warehouse a bit. Of course, I ended up seeing a few things I liked. I ended up getting a pretty nice Operation Wolf cab that had no monitor, but played blind. Not bad for $75! The cab was a beast. I fell back in love with Op Wolf when I was at the KLOV Crabtowne get-together last month. Lloyd had a bunch of monitors laying around so I also ended up getting 2 non-working g07s for $25 each and a working mon with some decent burn on it for $50. They threw in 3 free sixes of Hawaiian Punch that an old operator had left with them. I had one the other day - not bad. Moving the Op Wolf down in the basement was not easy, even though it didn't have a monitor in it. I almost flipped the cab over making the turn down into the basement steps outside the back of the house. Somehow, I was able to recover. Damn, I was very accident prone on this trip. I've moved almost 50 games over the years and never had an incident until this trip. I'm gettin' old, I guess!
Anyway, enjoy the pics, hopefully they came out OK.
