So here's my next monitor F-up....

Got a Nintendo dual system with Sharp XM-200's. #1 monitor works but has bad fold over. Monitor 2 is dead. Ordered cap kits

Capped monitor 1. Works great

Capped monitor 2. and I made a boo boo....forgot to connect dag wire. Fired it and all kinds of clicking/buzzing noise from the flyback. Saw smoke and shut it down, then I realized I forgot about the dag wire.

Connected dag wire and tried again just for shits and giggles (I knew I shoudn't have done it again). Got a pic (small and wavy) then the noise went away...The monitor shows a small green dot and I shut it down. Small green dot stays on monitor with no power for 5 minutes.

I thought I read a while back that new flybacks for this monitor do not exist? True?

By firing it again, I'm assuming I blew something else...ideas??

By not connecting the dag wire, did I blow the flyback? I have this feeling it was already gone.

1 more thing I forgot to include:

Before doing any of this I tried an experiment. I switched power connectors to the monitors. Connectors for the power to both monitors measured 104V. However, If I switch them around, the good working monitor wouldn't fire. Switch back power connector, then it fired.

Does that make sense? Hard to explain.

I had to do this in order to smoke the 2nd monitor after the cap kit. I just don't understand when both have the same voltage.
