Hey guys!
I picked up an old Crane Game for my kids for this past Christmas. Got it cleaned up and working great... UNTIL- they had a party and tons of kids from the neighborhood came over. They had shoved over 50 (seriously!) quarters into the thing, jamming/breaking the Coin Comparator. While trying to fix THAT- I accidentally bumped the 12v Red to the Black wire (I know, should've turned it off). There was a spark....

Now, there's a clicking sound & spark coming from what I THINK is a relay? I actually caught a picture of the spark (see the image URL).

I have tried for MONTHS to locate the manufacturer, or anyone who knows the board- can't find anything. Can I just replace that one relay, and be back in business? Or, do I need to replace the entire board, and find a cooperating coin mech to go with it (the ones I've tried don't work).

I'd REALLY appreciate any/all help! My kids are DEVASTATED it's not working, and I'm DETERMINED to get it going again.

THANK YOU!!!

Looks like a generic China crane board.

Any chance of a pic of the crane itself ?

Can you explain? Are you saying to get the relay from there? Or, get a new board? Something else?

Thank you!

The part in the picture that is sparking/arcing is a relay. Hard to tell the p/n from the pic but probably just a standard relay. Cables and Connectors sells them as do many other vendors.

Big lugs on the back, they can be a bit of a bear to desolder and replace without the right equipment.

Great- thanks for the reply. I don't have the right equipment, other than some basic soldering stuff... otherwise- can I just replace the main board? Will the pre-existing motors, power block, etc work with a new board easily? Any suggestions on where to get one from?
