Well I guess it was bound to happen, while moving m Asteroids Deluxe I had and accident :(

Lost it off of the front of the hand truck (no I didn't have it strapped...slaps head...) it pitched forward then did a nice pirouette to the left while heading down on it left side slightly smacking my Atari football (nice little dent/scratch) then firmly landing on its left side, back door popped off, pcb dang near ejected from the back, and finally I have this:

A nice 1/8th of an inch separation at the top about the length of the marquee :(

Anyone have an idea on how I can get this back together?

I was thinking maybe I could glue it and then use a ratchet strap to get it to come back together....

That would work, but you'd probably get better results from a pair of bar clamps. I don't normally recommend cheap tools, but some cheap china-made one's would do just fine for a one off job.

Yeah... I was going to suggest getting some bar clamps. Harbor Freight ones if you have one locally.

I fixed up an old taito cabinet where that was happening at the bottom front. Added glue, clamped and additionally, I nailed it. You probably don't need nails.

But yes I second the "clamp-n-glue" solution.

Thanks,

I'm going to have to check out what Harbor Freight has for them, might be the only thing I'll use them for.

Just saw you agreed darthphunk, Harbor Freight it is. :)

I would cut a 2' piece of 2x4 and place it against the side of the cab. Hammer lightly on the 2x4 until side goes back in place.

If you use clamps you might want to put something in between the clamp and the cab. I think everyone has been where your at at some point. GOOD LUCK

Yes, if your clamps don't come with anti-mar faces (i.e. rubber padding), buy them or use a spacer. Sometimes they are separate/extra.

Thanks everyone, I tried the hammer and 2x4 trick, it got a lot better but not perfect, tried to guide the staples as best I could but that's almost mission impossible..lol..

I want to eventually replace the sideart on this one so I'm not too worried about any scratches on it, might be the best time to get the cab straight before I go forward with new art.
